How To: Fix WWE 2K22 Demo Mode Stuck Issue

Overview: The issue comes mainly because the console is installing a small portion of the full game to allow it to be playable right away. My assumption is that by playing demo matches you are not letting the console do its thing and extending the time it takes for the game to fully install. Simply follow the steps below. Let the console sit on pause and when you return it should work just fine. I tried it twice today and was able to get it running.

1. Remove/Uninstall your current installation of the game.

2. Disable network features.

3. Reboot/Restart your console

4. Reinstall the base game (Make sure network features are disable) you want to only install the base game from the disc and not the available patches.

5. Start the game, Select Roman vs Rey and press pause.

6. Leave the console paused for 45 minutes.

7. After 45 Minutes quit the match and you should now be able to play the full game.

8. You can now enable network features and update to the latest patch.

9. Have fun!

Had the same problem but it's now fixed.
You just have to let the game run 20 or 30 minutes. Play demo matches if you want to. Just let the game run and after 30 minutes, the game will be fully installed. It's disturbing because there's not mention of it but the installation is still going on while you're stuck in demo mode.

I’ve been stuck with this issue for days now and I’ve been doing exactly what this video and everyone else has been saying and nothing is working. It’s absolutely ridiculous that 2k had literally YEARS to perfect this game and free it of game-breaking bugs like this and they can’t even do that!! I spent $40 on this game and probably an additional $15-$20 on the DLC and I could only enjoy it for like 3 or 4 months before this crap happened and ruined it. And according to what I’ve been reading this demo mode glitch HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE LAUNCH BACK IN Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable that after all these patches they released they still haven’t fixed this huge issue. I’m absolutely never buying another wrestling game produced by 2k this is an absolute joke

I was able to finally download WWE 2K22 for my PS4 without any problems
after watching your very helpful video. if the video is going too fast for you

I am having this exact same problem now and when I try put myself in a match I’m stuck on a black screen nothings working

It took me 40mins for WWE 2k22 to work. The reason the game is stuck on demo mode is because the game has this update that the console your playing on doesn't tell you.

To fix this issue you need to do is
1. update the game to the latest update
2. play a one on one demo game
3. once your one one demo match starts (game loads), pause the game and wait for 30mins to an hour
4. Unpause the game and finish the match.

Once you win/lose the match and return to the menu, the game will not be in demo mode and the game should be fixed.

Just let the game run for a bit or leave PS on Low Battery Mode. It’ll install in the background but it doesn’t say it anywhere. It’s a system error. But after a while, depending on your storage, it should download within an hour or two.

If these don’t work do not worry, it’s most Likley that the game has not fully download yet, hover over wwe 2k22 press options then press information, if it is still downloading then it will be stuck in demo mode, wait a few hours, come back and check. After that you should be able to play, and not have to worry about being in demo mode.

Here's what to do on PS5 if it's in demo mode: Close WWE 2K22 > Go to Game Library > Press the options button on PS5 controller to select "Information" on WWE 2K22 game. There you will see how many more GBs you have left before the system downloaded the full game. Initially when it's demo mode about 8GB has been downloaded. WWE 2K22 is 60+ GB. So yeah it'll take a while. I'd suggest leaving it on the information page and let the console get the game without any interruptions.
