I feel like NR can learn from Capcom when it comes to grabs. If they are grabbing me, if I press my own grab button in time it techs the throw. This guessing which button shit is ASS especially since it literally doesn’t work all the time. That’s my only gripe with these games.

They shouldn't have this 50/50 bs anymore, smh. They should do it like street fighter where u just press the throw button back as the reversal ...
I know when every one is about to grab me, that 50/50 bullshit helps them out.

Left in MKX to tekken 7, did not miss these 50/50s XD
Most throws in tekken are clearly indicated by a different animation, so this is annoying to get used to again

Grabs have an absurd amount of range, hitbox, and grab window. The problem is because the game is so fast and there are so many 50/50s and safe options, you can't help but block on wake-up. Yes, you can duck out of the grab, but in order to "duck" you have to have been standing in the first place. That half of a second on wake-up you stood up, they Oki'd a low attack instead. You can wake-up counter, but what if you have no bar? Wake-up countering only works if your enemy is overly aggressive. It's also more punishable than blocking and it prevents/prolongs your ability to combo-break

I wish teching blocks was connected to the pad rather than a button or at least gave us an option to. Like what makes sense to me would be pressing left or right to tech a throw not 1 or 2.

Grabs in fighting games is the most infuriating thing ever conceived, especially in MK when I can be mid animation for a movie and id still be grabbed.

Throwing is a huge part of my game once a man told me that the computer drones will always out throw you especially later in mortal Kombat 2. I had to prove him wrong I can throw them all that will with the exception of Shang tsung nine times out of 10 he will throw me although I've sent him flying a few times as well. Even Jax has problems ansonia is tied up so her leg throw is not able to be used to get Shang tsung. I mean you can cheese throw him with people like noob saibot that one of his throws is a special move. Every once in awhile you can get Shang tsung when you freeze him or spare him but in mortal Kombat 2 you could not run. So if you freeze him by the time you get over there he's falling out and nine times out of 10 he would still managed to throw you. Scorpion when you spear him he remains able to inflict damage right after the spears so he always throws me. Usually I use the long leg players like baraka or Raiden and every once in awhile I can send his ass flying. Throwing is a huge part of my game and I don't see most players attempting it you can beat the cheating computer if you play and practice at it.

I asked a game designer Washington was so hard to throw on mortal Kombat 2. He said well the games designed so the further you go the hoarder they are and Shang tsung is the only character in the entire game who's throw defense is set on 100% even the secret characters are not set on 100%. He is before the most difficult character besides the bosses who you cannot throw to send flying so if you do it you deserve a pat on the back. I used to Pat myself on the back when I sent him flying in my younger days.

Okay took me hours of doing the same solo practice with myself using two controllers but I figured it out. For PlayStation. forward throw you press not hold or tap but press… TRIANGLE and for back throws you PRESS SQAURE NOT HOLD OR TAP. but it’s pretty risky doing it in game because there is no way of knowing what your opponent will cheese unless yall are in the same room.

this mechanic sucks, mk1 is the prove that orienting mk to a real fighting game is the best, they had to admit that this mk original tech mechanic isnt good. Techs should work as street fighter not be a true 50/50

Reviewing this it resembles Tekken 8s throw escape system so that is good to know...I remembered that it was NOT the same as Street Fighter (its the most intuitive of the main fighting games I play just throw when enemy wants to throw) and wanted to review before returning and derusting at Mortal Kombat 1...because I've been focusing a lot on Tekken 8 instead for a while.
