I love my ID4. I have a 2023 ProS AWD. It is the most comfortable cars I have ever driven. I was driving luxury cars for the last 30 years, and I think the ID4 is just as nice as the high-priced cars I used to drive.

Joe that interior is actually pretty beautiful for the price range. One of my favorites in this category.

We have the 2023 Pros AWD and loving it. Already used it for a road trip from Maryland to Florida and back, then to NJ & back. Easy enough to find charging stations and comfortable enough for sleeping. It's supposed to be 275 range, but it seems to learn your driving habits, and we even had a reading for 300+ range after one of the last charges.

My wife and I traded in our ‘21 Sorento and got the ID4 AWD Pro S Plus just today and it’s such an awesome car, very good quality all around.

1. To turn it on just press the brake. You don't need to use that steering column button.
2. That "locations" is for you to put in your own charger location.
3. B mode IS the so called "one pedal drive" mode, except it creep forward at very low speed, and you need to press brake to a stop.

I drove an id.4 pro s for 3 hours. Now I get to bargain with multiple dealers to get the best price. Tons of good deals out here in So Cal. I like this Silver and the Grey color. Wish me luck. Shooting for $350/month lease with zero down for 4 years.

This is not the Pro S, just a regular S. Means you get all the fancy features, but not the additional range. Anything with Pro in the name has up to 275 miles of range. 5:20

I work for Galpin Volkswagen, this car is great lots of customers love it! This model is not a “pro s” this is just the Id.4 S which is standard which is crazy due to all the features it does have doesn’t even feel “base model” anymore

Joe, We bit the EV bullet for my wife and got a 2023 ID4 Pro S as well, and we are really liking it so far. Our has the lighter cosmic interior and a beautiful Arctic Blue Metallic paint. The wife loves it and it gets around pretty well.

The ID.4 is NOT Vw's first all electric. They produced the E Golf and the ID.3 previously. The model that is being reviewed CLEARLY shows it is the base model Standard, not a Pro S. That means that it has 20" wheels among other changes over the Standard model. There are eight models now.

I don't care that it has no storage in the front. Anything of significant weight could negatively affect handling. I don't like gray, it's invisible during twilight, in fog and snow. (All of which I drive in). The ID.4 starts if you have the key on you, by sitting on the seat. To move you press the brake pedal and turn the drive selector. The ID.4 single motor modeled are Rear Wheel Drive.

The locations setting on the charging screen is to select memorized charging stations.

The package you said was a charger, is not. It's a tire inflator and sealer.

The ID.4 Pro model has the 82 KW battery (My Pro S typically goes 300 miles plus) and lists at $43, 995.

EV tires are NOT going to have thinner sidewalls. They should be HL (heavy load) ratings and specifically state they are Electric tires, like the Pirellis on the car you are driving. All EVs must have EV rated tires. Standard tires would likely have a VERY short life span.

We have had our 2023 VW ID.4 ProS for six months now and apart from some minor software issues, mostly to do with Apple CarPlay, we love our vehicle. One thing which is rather annoying at night is that the lower controls beneath the screen are not illuminated, so you can’t see them. This needs to be addressed. The Travel Assist is somewhat inconsistent. We have done two road trips and had no charging issues. We live in a small town about 25 minutes from a town with an Electrify Canada charging station where we go to shop about once a week, as it has a Costco and other stores. Because we have free charging for three years, we charge there, and hardly ever have to use our level 2 charger in our garage. This means our fuel costs have gone from 100-200 dollars per week to almost zero.
What I do not understand is, while EVs in N. America are selling well, why is the demand for the ID.4 in Europe down so much that VW has had to reduce its production and lay off workers? When I was on a river cruise through Austria and Germany last September I did not see one ID.4 anywhere!

I considered the ID.4 in my decision to buy an EV, but the user interface was bad. I did not like the way the infotainment system was set up. And the steering wheel column mounted screen just looks ridiculous to me, kind of like a video game setup. I also looked at the Ioniq 5, EV6, Q4 e-tron, and the Ariya but all were eliminated for various reasons. Ultimately, the winner for me was the XC40 Recharge. The 402hp and the feel of that vehicle won it for me, and I got it at a great price, too.

Actually, I already bought a USA made 2023 Pro S AWD. The second engine makes a huge difference in power and feel of the power on foot. Also range is better than claimed for me. I get 270 miles for 100% charging. They recommend 80%. What u forgot to say is that the USA made model still has the $7, 500 instant credit if u lease or $7, 500 income tax reduction if u buy. I bought mine in 2023, a few days before I filled my 2022 returns. So VW provides you with documentation for the tax deduction for 2023 filling. Also when shopping for this, I didn't compare to the bz whatever, solterra or the little Lexus EV (it wasn't out then). I compared it to the ioniq5, ev6 and Tesla y. The Y was a worthy contender but fit and finish was awful. Plus there are VW dealerships for services all over.

Hey Joe, I actually have a 2022 ID 4 Pro S AWD model and I love it. Thank you for all your videos and would love to meet you one day. Once I come back from basic training. Thank you again.

I think this isn’t the Pro S, I think it’s just the S. You can tell by the badging on the side of the car. Great review though!

Basically a Prius, but the seats are higher. If you are 6 feet tall like me, a Prius is a spine breaker.
