I guess you can do the same with any recorder: obs, garage band on mac, quicktime. The point is, does audacity keep the original quality of the song or any chance it lowers it? Because I wont even bother with my huge library on spotify if it lowers the quality.

How do you obtain the menu with speaker in Audacity? It is not default setting.

I'm having trouble. I'm trying to download a small portion of a song and add it as an intro song to my podcast. I'm on my macbook and I have a Samson Q2U microphone hooked up to my mac. The speaker option does not show up as you mentioned in Audacity. Am I doing something wrong?

The problem is that the Spotify audio is already compressed, it doesn't matter if it says it is in high quality, you are not really downloading a wav document, you are downloading a compressed and flat mp3 document modified to a wav name
