SCIENCE: This is called tidal locking and it’s actually fairly common in extraterrestrial solar systems. Neither extreme is safe, one side boils you and the other freezes you. However, right in between there is a narrow band of temperate climate that lives in constant dusk/dawn. This is called the terminator line. The only issue that remains is that the air flow from cold to hot and hot to cold sides creates massive storms on the terminator. It’s a fun concept :)

Edit: Comments reminded me that the Moon is in fact tidally locked. Notice that when one looks at the moon it’s always the same side with the exact same arrangement of dark and light patches. This is because the same side of the moon always faces Earth, and the other side is always facing away. This is also what causes the Moon cycles going from 🌑🌘🌗🌖🌕🌔🌓🌒🌑. So there’s that fact.
