Probably my favorite review so far (great humor!). Nice to see the EPA rated 270 miles Premium AWD Ext. getting 304 miles in your test. Also shocker to get the recommendation over the Tesla Model Y. Great overview, thanks!

Good review. I have been hoping for a fun and appealing EV from this new crop. While I always liked the Mach E I had high hopes for the Polestar 2, but it fell short when it came to support and availability. My local Volvo dealers told me flat out they would never carry it. My Ford dealer stays in touch and keeps me updated on a soon-to-arrive demo model for me to check out.

Tesla, their design language doesn't appeal to me. How a car looks and feels does matter. The attitudes I have gotten from local Tesla employees hasn't helped them but it is the toxic online Tesla fan community that keeps me from ever wanting to be associated with that brand.

I follow the automotive industry and participated in it for most of my career. What I have heard and seen from Ford management over the last several years has genuinely impressed me. They have done much to break out of departmental silos, building design teams based around products rather than departments. We see the fruit of that effort in the Mach E, new F-150 & powertrain variants, and the amazing new Bronco.

I'll probably add a Mach E to my 'stable' this coming year. Was thinking big battery and RWD. I hate the loose oversteer on most fast AWD cars. Today I've seen a number of test-drivers comment on the natural feeling controllable oversteer on the Mach E, the kind of handling that cars should have.

Very relieved to see how well you fit in the car. I'm 6'5, and just ordered one. And perfect pronunciation!

Thanks great informative review. Don’t mind that they called it a mustang the more I’ve seen of it the more I like it. And do everyone have to drive and like a Tesla, I do think it’s great that other car manufacturers are making competitive ev cars.

IMPRESSIVE interior room given that he's 6'4"

Really should be comparing the ride quality to a Tesla Model Y Long Range with the smaller wheels instead of the Performance version — apples and oranges. The Mach-E GT ride with the Model Y Performance would be a more fair comparison.

Great job Ford. Screw people who can’t embrace change. Ford has the balls to move the needle. Bully for them. When my Bolts lease is up, I’ll be testing it out.

Can you share a charging curve, so we can see how long it charges with which speed till 100% ?

Ford currently has a much larger dealer network than Tesla and that’s a plus. It’s just a matter of having trained and certified techs available at most of those dealers. Another plus is that most EVs have a pretty low resale value which is good for used car shoppers.

It should have been called the Falcon E, Galaxy 500E, heck the Cougar to cater to single hockey, or soccer Mom's

Great review! Love the real-world comparisons with the Model Y. It's great to have some competition and the future looks very bright for electrics.

I wonder how much these will sell for with dealer markup.

Down near the cup holders would be better. Once you get things set, it would be nice to go to a Black out screen saver. Anything to make the screen less distracting while driving would be good. Current screen looks like an after thought.

Would love to see side by side comparison with a Tesla Model Y for Range (Hot vs Normal vs Cold weather), Acceleration, Charging Time, Costs, Autonomous Driving ability, and so on. #WeWantNumbers

so on - Weight, Dimensions, Ground Clearance, Head/Leg room, Towing.
Subjective aspects could always have a certain bias, but not with these parameters mentioned above. Don't you agree #Edmunds?

That screen looks like someone took his laptop computer and glued it to the edge of the dash.

Gotta do something about that screen but otherwise brilliant! Thanks for the review mate!

Apples to apples the Tesla Model Y long range is the direct competitor not the performance one.
