Would be nice if the camera was focused more on the items be reviewed. We are more interested looking at the items as opposed to keeping you in the frame. You explain how to manipulate caps and adjustments and it being flush but we cant see it being done!

If you can’t load a battery you probably shouldn’t be loading a gun.

I have the Romeo 5 and love it! The problem with the 5x and xdr is you can’t use a different mount with your red dot which I didn’t like. I upgraded to the Unity Tactical mount It’s amazing.

Just got my Romeo5 yesterday. Mine has a stock number of SOR50000. Love this little guy!

Thanks, John for explaining the difference between the Sig Sauer red-dot trio.
I just ordered 2-each of the Romeo5 - SOR52001 from Osage County Guns and all-in-all you folks had the best price around on the internet at $99.99 each and because I bought two I received free shipping.
I am a happy camper and will be even happier and more entertained once they arrive.
Thanks again, John.

This is a great comparison, thank you. The problem with using AAA alkaline battery is that it WILL leak when you leave it installed and stored for awhile (sometimes less than one year and it will leak all over the place!). I rather use the CR2032 battery for anything that is stored most of the time.

I just purchased my Romeo 5 on Saturday unboxed it and it was " Not " working. Took it to back to Palmeto State Armory this morning the girl behind the counter made a few adjustments and it works fine. Just like you said it was turned down so low I couldn't see the dot. Wish I had found this video yesterday. Glad to have a good red dot now I have to zero my rifle.

Maybe it’s me but, the thing about the 2032 battery vs AAAs is not a deal breaker (at least to me). Also, I like the fact that the Romeo 5 sits a bit lower than its bigger brothers. Oh, and I like/trust having caps instead of “exposed” adjusment knobs.

You guys rock, just ordered one from you, shipped same day. You also had the best price around.

Dude, thank you so much for the part about the 5x including an extra riser to 1/3 co-witness. I cannot find a shred of info about that. I have a drawer full of AA and AAA eneloops and wanted to 1/3 co. So this seals the deal. 5x it is.

My personal opinion is to prefer the cr2032 battery as it is a lithium battery. AAA is more readily available but alkaline batteries are prone to leaking which would ruin the optic. Unless you used a lithium AAA which I would assume would be more difficult to find than CR2032. Years of installing electronic security system tells me to avoid alkaline whenever possible.

Love SIG optics built like a tank and never loses zero! What I don't understand is why would anyone want the X if the XDR offers both reticles and you can select between the two. Wouldn't the XDR act as both sights as just one? Just buy the XDR and you have both! Eliminate the X line. I own the 5, 7 and 7s and I gotta get the xdr now! Great video

I purchased a XDR and brought it back for the reason of the front glass. however my gun shop did open a few and we noticed a vast difference in the recess/cant of the glass and it’s depth. It was actually the same and consistent all the way across with the 5x’s however so for that reason I went with the 5x. One of the XDR’s you could see more of the glue/sealant and cant was noticeably different even tho all were off and inconsistent for the XDRs. 3 new 5XDR’s were compared. And 3 5x’s.

I agree with one of the comments that the video should be focused on closeups of the small hardware, the subject of your video, not wide frame views of narrator standing, talking.

Romeo 5 works great for my purposes. $125 from a major online retailer. Set it up with a cheap boresight then bing bing bing 6" pattern at 50 yds with a 30rd mag. Pretty good for an old guy.

I don't mind the CR2032 battery at all. I have two garage remotes and three car remotes that all take the same thing. I can go to Walgreen's, Rite Aid, Walmart, and many gas stations and find them. The windage and elevation caps I'm also fine with because they are metal shields for the adjustments, and the tool is built in, staying with the sight. I have the 5 and love it so far. Thanks for the info.

I just ordered a Romeo 5. Now I'm glad I didn't opt for a more expensive one. I trust a CR2032 or (Industrial version) CR2035 far more than an AAA for longevity, as well as less mass for wear due to shock. For my application I have no need for spot adjustments, so the screw on caps work for me also.
