Let's play Kerbal Space Program, a return to the game that started it all! (On my channel, that is...) This game is a masterpiece, combining parts rocket science, both building and mission planning, as well as progression with science and tycoon/management with contracts and part costs.
...
Simply one of the best games of our time.

Kerbal Space Program on Steam:

In Kerbal Space Program, take charge of the space program for the alien race known as the Kerbals. You have access to an array of parts to assemble fully-functional spacecraft that flies (or doesn’t) based on realistic aerodynamic and orbital physics.

Launch your Kerbal crew into orbit and beyond (while keeping them alive) to explore moons and planets in the Kerbol solar system, constructing bases and space stations to expand the reach of your expedition.

Kerbal Space Program features three gameplay modes. In Science Mode, perform space experiments to unlock new technology and advance the knowledge of Kerbalkind. In Career Mode, oversee every aspect of the space program, including construction, strategy, funding, upgrades, and more. In Sandbox, you are free to build any spacecraft you can think of, with all parts and technology in the game.

I've been looking forward to this series since I was asked about making a flag! I love KSP and love supporting the channel.
I hope everyone enjoys this gameplay and the flag too.

18:30 yeah reputation is weird and can be ignored entirely. All it really does is unlock the 3 star contracts at mission control, which gives you more options but getting missions like "build a space station on eve with 18 kerbals" is a bit excessive when you are barely landing on the mun. I do believe if you have low reputation is starts giving you really easy missions again, so if you are failing missions it should make the game easier. It's also why I don't understand the point of the administration building, like you could trade reputation early on for more science or money since they are more valuable but the setup cost is almost always prohibitive for early game, but late game 1k kerbucks per 1 reputation is pocket change, so I just don't understand what that building is even for.

23:20 lol, I usually just practice my landings with a really basic rocket but that works too.

You don't need multiple command pods for the science bus, FYI. A command pod can only hold one report _in its 'Crew report' experiment, _ but if you have a Kerbal get out, collect the report data with the right-click menu, then get back in, it can store an unlimited number of reports in its 'experiment storage'. It can only hold one copy of any *given* report, i.e. 1 per situation, but that's fine since you get 100% of the possible science for a situation from the first report.

Once you unlock the Experiment Storage Unit, it becomes even easier; it can automatically collect the report from its own right-click menu without requiring someone get out. (Though since you need an EVA report as well, that doesn't really save you much effort.)

Absolutely a fantastic game I recommend to anyone. It's brutal but a lot of fun. Can't wait to see how many Kermans explode

I love the first 4 hours or so of a KSP campaign. At a certain point though it's becomes a little overwhelming but those first few hours are excellent

I know this video is a couple months old, but I am a bit surprised someone didn't tell this fella that you can jump out of a craft and take your science out and store it back in and get back in and then you can take a new crew report.. That would make it where he wouldn't of had to do it by having a bunch of MK1 Command Pods. But I was shocked that I didn't see anyone say it, though to be honest I didn't go through all the comments... Another way you can do it is if you have a Experiment Storage Unit, you can just move your science there. Of course if your slick you can have four Experiment Storage Units, and move experiments like the Goo and such into them. The trick to that one is to have a scientist reset them once you moved them over.. I am unsure if you have to turn on Advanced Tweakables in the Settings to be able to see the option to transfer the science to them, but I have that on anyhow lol.

You talked about your "science bus" and how a lot of people would associate "bus" with people. Since you'd probably be better off calling it a truck or van. idk if you've ever seen a truck carrying a bunch of metal cylinders full of gas. :)

Or, since it flies, it could be a scout, or explorer... Or maybe a rocket car (thinking of out on the flat desert areas). Cheetah was pretty cool, although it was pretty slow. Hehe. Or just "science vehicle" for the uncreative. :)

You mentioned that you're not using any mods. What about the expansions?
I love the concept of this game, but unfortunately when I started playing it, I found I hated manually flying. I much prefer a more management type of approach. Regardless, I'll probably still try KSP2. Assembling rockets and progressive campaign objectives are fantastic.

!!! I knew i had seen your channel at some point before i started watching you play cold waters! If you started with KSP then it makes sense i would of probably seen you at some point or another. Ahh how the interests of Variety gamers wander.

Pretty impressed to not have any mods. There's some I basically consider mandatory.

I'm glad to see someone elses horrible science bus design. I always make this little deformed vehicles as well. Gotta get that early science.

Do you have the recent DLC Breaking Ground and Making History? They've got some really cool additions in there?

Edit: You haven't truly played KSP until you've rolled your way around the entire facility inside a stack of command pods. LOL
