Two things Mommy doesn't think of while panicking.
1) Pulling the lever to turn the machine off.
2) Not putting any other limbs to the machine. What kills her isn't her stuck arm, but rather her foot which only got stuck because she was trying to free her arm.

I know that the lever trigger is what makes her escape the machine (because the machine isn’t on) but I guess the devs thought ahead and made it so both the door and lever need to be activated for that scene to happen. Very smart move on their part.
