Driving hoverboard wheel-motor with RC model ESC

Hi,


I have an issue with finding a correct ESC to use. I am using a 40A ESC UBEC 4A, and a 36V 350W motor. I have 6S Lipo Batteries to power the motor. The problem with this ESC is that it doesn't allow a high enough current through to start and only after a push does the wheel start moving.


We've tried an 80A ESC however the motor is only moving very slowly - about 0.3m/s and the speed was not changing with the throttle.


Which ESC are you using and can you offer any solutions to our problems.

I run a similar setup with my 24v 150w hoverboard motor with a 4s HVLipo and it is horribly slow. Almost can spin it the same speed by hand? Know why? Ive tried multiple escs and other 4s and 4s hv lipo batteries and same result even on 3 other hoverboard wheels. Would like to try 6s power but only have 4 in 1 fpv escs for that type of power but only 2-4s individual drone escs and rc car escs

Do u really run this motor without the hall sensor?

These motors without Hall sensor are pretty much useless. It can spin by those ESC, but they have NO TORQUE in low RPM. So, good luck trying to build something with it.

Hi, I have a problem when test on the floor, if the floor has a pothole it stops, how would you make the hoverboard keep moving through potholes?

I tried the same with a 11.1 volt 1500mah battery, but the motor just vibrates. What do you recommend for a good solution?

what is the voltage applied. i tested one with 12 volts 7a battery and seems something wrong.

I have the same one, but when I tried to run it on 7, 4v battery with 2s controller, it started spinning but it stops every 3 seconds and don't spin more (sorry for bad English). What should I try to run my motor smoothly without stopping?

Hey guys, I got my hoverboard new and after 20 minutes the side of the wheel was very hot. So my question is, is it normal and can you still ride on it when the side of the wheel is very hot? Please help

Can i use a 60a esc to control 2 Hoverboard motor because u used a 30a esc to control a single motor.
