I’ve fucked myself up over the years and reallly struggle to run for 15 minutes. So 100km is just utter madness. Your mad as a bag of cheese. Very impressive. You’ve motivated me to go for 16 minutes.

'I don't know how.... but like my knees feel really stiff' 😅 you just did 100km, I think we all know how/why. Great running Jonne

You’re a really smart guy, Jonne. You always do your prep the right way, you learn about the sports and then you apply that knowledge, you don’t dive in head first blindfolded, so you improve by a lot your chances of success. Congrats on this hardship. I have been running for about 8 years now and never had the courage to do an ultra. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I know exactly what you mean by this "inner heat" you are talking about. My normal ritual when having intense workouts in the afternoon/evening is a cold shower before going to bed. Otherwise i am not able to sleep due to this heat. I especially experience this after hard swimming workouts but also after long and intense runs (and there mostly after a very cold phase I have to go through, usually 1 hour...then the "afterburner" kicks in).
Although I shared this issue already with a lot of athletes, I never heard of anyone else with a similar feeling. Now I finally heard it for the first time from another person. :)

Congratulations to your great and inspriring achievement!

That feeling during the night is very unscientifically called the “ultra sweats” here in the states. Congrats on your finish! Hope to get to Finland sometime to try this race - looks beautiful. If you ever want to try a USA ultra check out some of the options in the state of Virginia. Massanutten, Grindstone, Hellgate and many more awesome options.

This is an ideal add on to the running documentary itself. Informative for all who never experienced something like this, honest and funny. Great. Thanks a lot.

Your use of irony and humor remind me of the protagonist in the Martian. Funny. Well done on finishing the 100k too. That’s a hugely impressive accomplishment. I’m dreaming of trying it too after some more years of training.

Tbh when i started cycling i couldnt get over how easy it was to cycle the distances I was doing...
(At a time where i wasnt fit i cycled 14km then 28km then 55km on the 3 first days with the bike... after years of not cycling at all and after barely getting active (nothing more than walking 10k steps))

After a few months, i surprised myself again when i did a 225km cycle in a day... and wasnt sore that day or the next...

My brain couldn't understand either of those being possible but my body was just doing them 🙃
