Done my longest yet today 13.10 miles which I believe is a half Marathon, this time last year I was 7st heavier and never ran so really proud of myself. Keep going with your training, you’re doing amazing x

Absolutely amazing Sarah, well done! I'm currently trying to complete a 40 minute non-stop run - not bad since I was in a wheelchair only 3 years ago! You got this! x

Training for a HM under 2 hours, which is shaving off 20 minutes from my previous time. Never thought to use different shoes for speed sessions, must consider doing that!

Congrats on reaching 30k, a nice milestone on the way to the marathon. Before you know it, 30k will be the kind of distance you just do on a random Sunday because you feel like it...

I am so glad you brought up the 'morning' 'afternoon' thing! Saying afternoon makes you sound like you're in a 40s period drama.

I'm seven weeks into training to run my first 5k ever. So far I feel like I'm on my way to enjoy it more rather than just gasping for air the whole time!
Congrats on your 30k! I hope I'll get there as well!

Got so emotional watching you finish that run. You’ve inspired me to plan a marathon for myself. I ran my first half in August and thought at the time, never doing double that 🤣, but it’s the best motivator having something to aim for. Brilliant series Sarah xx

Haha. “Morning” just rolls off the tongue so much easier than “Afternoon”. I use “Morning” as a greeting until about 1pm, then just politely nod at people as I pass them. Good luck with the marathon! 😊

Working toward my first half. Had my "longest run ever" today too. 18 k. Ended up pushing sub HM goal pace in the last 5 km to get a feel for how it would be to "finish strong" in the race. Felt great!

Congratulations! Support is so important. This year, on my way to 50k, my girlfriend has been with me on the bike and it has made a huge difference. Also, following a plan for the first time, I learned that whatever the distance or time to run, the last part always seems to be hard. Meaning that the last 5 minutes of a 5k or the last 5k of a 25k run always has a little bit of drama in it, even if my pace is almost always steady. The longer the distance, the later it happens. Good luck with tapering and your marathon.

I'm so proud of how well you're doing!! I have less than 3 weeks before my first half and I'm definitely utilising the 3 goals tactic! 1st: under 2h, 2nd: under 2:10, and 3rd: just finish the damn thing!

I'm working toward my first half marathon, a distance I never thought I would run. I'm both looking forward to and somewhat wary of those long runs leading up to the race. Love following on with your journey and hearing what you've learned as you get closer to your race. Thanks for sharing your experiences along the way! You've got this.

Way to go Sarah! Always great when the long run comes together. I have learned with time and over a dozen marathons that sometimes they suck and that is okay. Where I live went back to state of emergency so I will not be travelling to participate in my scheduled marathon, but I will run it myself here and just treat is as another long run and spare my legs a bit. My taper advice… taper ! Don’t let yourself be tempted to do more !

What do you say? Well, the old man who passed the writing old man yesterday, just looked at me and gave me a thumbs up and a smile and it felt great and I ran my fastest easiest easy run ever

Well done Sarah! My tip (I've done 9 marathons) is to write down a plan of exactly what you will eat and what you will wear on marathon day and the 2 days prior. Make this plan out at least a week before the race. Otherwise you will find yourself in a last day panic about food (am I eating enough?) and clothes (should I get a new pair of shoes?). The temptation will be very strong to try something new because it worked for someone else. Don't over-stretch or over-foam roll. Expect to feel strange phantom pains to come out of nowhere.

Well done! I watched this today while recovering from my own longest pre-marathon training run (32km, yesterday) so your timing is excellent :) Yorkshire marathon in 3 weeks ...
Good luck in Amsterdam!

I'm just getting back into running after a 4 year "break". I ran cross-country in high school, and my plan was just to focus on running 5ks (since that's what I ran in cross-country) and maybe a few 10ks, but thanks to you guys, I now have running a marathon on my bucket list. Good luck Sarah, you've been an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others!

Great series Sarah! My goal is to complete a half marathon sub 2hrs. I have never run a half as a race but hit 2:11ish in training. Right now I am doing some unstructured training. Just getting some miles in. Your video are inspiring. Thank you!

Relatively new runner here, my goal is to increase my mileage without injury so that I can safely run to work several days a week. Very impressed by your progression Sarah!
