Home Video # 20 (August 16, 2020) Here is Arroyo Seco, inspired by Eliza Gilkyson's Casa de Musica songwriters workshop near Taos, New Mexico. I wanted to try to capture the spirit of the workshop and the beauty of the area. They told me the names of the land features and the native people of Taos Pueblo who call themselves the People of the Red Willow. It was written from the point of view 20 years in the future, looking back at this period of great change. I hope you like it!

Another great song by John Gorka. I love this song and it takes me along those tracks of time.

I would like to go back and visit my family that have already left for glory.

Mr. Gorka, your music is beautiful, eye-opening, thought-provoking, and mind-expanding. The passion and emotional honesty with which you write and perform has always been a balm for the soul as far as I'm concerned. Folk music was never on my radar until the summer of 1994, when I started working at a Coconuts Records (remember those?) in NYC, and I bought your "Out of the Valley" cassette (lol) there. Truthfully, I bought it because I had always been a huge Mary Chapin Carpenter, and I had heard two things: 1-that she was singing background vocals in "Out of The Valley" and 2- that the late John Jennings, who produced many of Carpenter's best work was the producer of your album. But boy, one listen to "Out of the Valley" and I fell in love with your voice and your songwriting. And today, my iPod has all of your solo works from "I Know" to "True In Time." We all know that 2020 has been a mess, but your music is one of the few things that give me comfort and emotional solace amid this uncertain time. Your voice and your music are like a warm blanket on a cold night. Thanks for the music, sir, and keep on shining!!!! ((((Hugs)))
