"Except they should repent the Lord God would execute judgment against them to their utter destruction; And … would send or bring forth another people to possess the land, by his power, after the manner by which he brought their fathers"
Ether 11:20–21

Archaeology and history attest to the rise and fall of great civilizations, providing a second witness alongside the Book of Mormon for such realities. Only the Book of Mormon diagnoses the root of this problem, and only the Book of Mormon has the antidote.

I know the Book of Mormon is TRUE, I feel the spirit each time I read it. There are so many things that we read in it that teach us of it's Only prayer and a Real desire to know will anyone get an answer to it's

The possibility of conflict in the church over the "heartland versus mesoamerica" issue is a source of sorrow and anxiety for me. We need to not become divided over this issue.

That makes a little more sense. I would love to know more about it. The book of Alma implies that everything going on in the land is discussed in that book. In other words he speaks for everyone but just a segment of the population

there are also the Aztecs of the mainland of Mexico. Not sure where they might fit into this story. And it should be know that they extend southward into Guatemala which is where we think Lehi's family landed.

The Book of Mormon is a record of Christ's visit to the Americas. It is true. And it will still be true despite any earthly opinions by those who have not gotten a spiritiual conformation of its truthfulness by the Holy Ghost.

Not enough to convince me. Did you not read the book? The Yucatan Peninsula is too small for the vast Jaredite civilization. They were the greatest, largest civilization in history, up to that time. The Nephites were pretty big too, but not as big as the Lamanites. Also the people of Mulek were bigger than the Nephites. There was a time, about 200 years when all four civilzations were living and operating at the same time, but they were unaware of each other (except the Nephites and Lamanites knew of each other, but kept their distance). How could that be possible in such a small space? These people were sophisticated and intelligent. The book also mentions seasons, but Yucatan is hot all year long. It also does not have the most of the wildlife, crops (including linen flax which thrives in the Great Lakes, and even as far south as Georgia), and resources that are mentioned in the book. The ziggurats that is your symbol for Book of Mormon archaeology in the Yucatan, were built 800-1000 AD.

Though I believe that the Mayans were influenced by and perhaps were a remnant of the Book of Mormon people, it makes more sense that the main part if the Book of Mormon took place in the north and south eastern part of the US. It fulfills prophecy. The US has the mounds which are like the Israeli tels (ruins of crumbled cities) and also burial mounds, evidences of vast communities, footprints of temples with ramps, like in Israel (not your heathen ziggurat steps in Yucatan), footprints of thick, high walls, and forts surrounding villages. It's right in front of our faces. And these were built during the proper time frames. Some native tribes were still living in some of the ancient buildings, when Europeans showed up. Daniel Boone recorded that some tribesmen said that they didn't build this; my people destroyed those who built this. And so many of these mounds were plundered and plowed over. It sounds like fulfillment of prophecy. The ruins and subjects of artwork in Mesoamerica strongly resemble the ruins of southeast Asia. The ancients are more advanced than we can imagine. And we'll find out the history someday.
