My wife had a 2014 Nissan versa CVT transmisión with 53000 miles and went out. It cost $3600 to rebuild it. I couldn’t believe. my 2003 Toyota Tundra 3.4 2WD automatic has 380k miles and not a single problem just passed emissions again. Nissan CVT are junk . You are such a smart guy Scotty

I live in Colombia and in here most of car's transmissions are manual, in part for the price, in part because automatics sucks in our roads full of curves across the mountains, and I'm glad it is like that, Long live the manual transmission

If they stop making the cars I want with an available manual transmission, then I would just go back to driving my 87 Mustang as my daily driver again. It almost has a new motor ready for it, so it should be good for another 300k miles!

Until the automatic is cheaper to buy/fix than a manual, keep the manual around. They'll keep adding all these gears and functions to charge you more. Plus once a automatic has transmission issues, theres no way to get around it

In the ol´US of A automatic transmissions are king but in the rest of the world manuals are still king.
