I'm a business analyst in a consulting firm and I've been learning so much from your videos. This one is definitely one of my favorite along with another one you had where you critic slides you received from your audience on Instagram. This kind of contents when you use actual examples on what NOT to do are great for learner. Thank you so much for all of your effort

your content is always so helpful. fantastic insights. hearing you review real terrible slide/chart examples is great. would be fantastic to see at least one of these slides made over by you to see the before/after.

I had an internship as FP&A analyst at amazon and from what I know meeting with slide are really rare. When I was there most of reports were "Pager" (few pages with a lot of text and some graph/table). PowerPoint is not part of amazon culture, that can explain the slides quality

High quality, valuable content as always Heinrich! Not entirely necessary but I think it could've been cool to see a 'refurbished' version of one or two slides for a visual comparison of how it should look like. Maybe an idea for the next one? No doubt there will be more companies releasing horrendous slides in the future :) Cheers

Haha, your rant about this slide presentation was entertaining and insightful at the same time. I'd love to see an improved version of yours :)

This is so interesting and insightful! This reminds of the time I did an internship in PwC and how they were so strict with formatting and every little detail is standardized.

Consultants make quite a lot of money by following basic design and communication principles. If people just put in a little effort into learning something about design and sales, they might be a lot more effective. And in turn, companies may hire fewer "management consultants".

In my time of having to deal with consultants, I find it's so much easier to just give them all the things I need to communicate and have them create something. Then, I pull a real consultant move and take it back and present the idea 😎.

You're on fire today. Brilliant! More like this. Show us how you'd do it.

Hey Heinrich, first off, thank you for putting together all your YouTube videos. I’ve vicariously experienced the consulting world through your content. On this slide deck, in particular, I think you are missing the purpose of why content is presented this way: to explicitly not draw attention to trendline of lower cash flows. A lot of these types of trick you learn by taking or leading companies public, where you are constrained in what you have to (or can present), but always need to communicate confidence in long term hold for the stock. Certainly an artifact of catering to shareholders rather than driving information. But in the world of nonsense activist investors, probably a worthwhile tactic.

Love your content!
I am not in the beginning of my career, I am not young, I am not management consultant, but I do like what you presents.
- Quick question: What is best, many slides with little content OR few slides with a lot of content?

Great video as always! I would also pay attention to headings, charts and margins on the side and top not "jumping"/ changing position slightly when you flip through the pages quickly. Greetings from Munich/Zürich

Wow Heinrich, you really cut them down here!! But, it was completely warranted. I couldn't even make an IB or other consulting firm joke out of this (like this was a BCG or Bain or EY slide deck). Those firms have just to good of a slide communication culture. For me really having an action title is the biggest offense, IMO. I am really working on using those in my engineering job right now. But one question, regarding monetary labeling. If you are presenting graphs and figures, and you intend this to not go international, is it ok to still use the $ to represent USD? Thanks.

Read some of the comments and there is quite a bit on the PPT. However, look beyond that, its actually core to communication or delivery by the presenter.

Great video!! In non-consulting firms what I have seen in my experience is that usually people are not that adept at powerpoint. But the presentation at prepared for this level of audience should have more thought put in it and be more consistent.

Thanks for making the video series Heinrich.

I wanted to ask what is the difference between the YouTube video series and the paid content on your website? I took a look at the website's curriculum and think they are rather basic and short compared with the contents in the YouTube videos.

Would be keen to learn your perspective on slide theme's color picking (in case the company doesn't have a deck template) and any design rule for the deck cover.

Hi, I‘ve recently gone back to your BCG-GameStop lawsuit video. Do you know what happened in the last 4 months and do you consider filming a follow-up video on this topic?

Pedantic points but once you notice these things they are very troubling and consistency is the mark of quality as a former boss of mine often said.
