Some people say Griffith has to die at the end. And yeah i agree, but does it have to be a physical death?
Griffith above all else, cares about his own image and his "kingdom". Being seen as a good man and a saviour is his goal.
So what happens when he loses that? When his subjects turn their backs on him? When no one looks up to him, prey to him, or care about him. Simple, He dies.
This in my opinion is the best end we can have. Guts has always relied on his strength and physical power up until this point, and the one time he decided to leave -a mental decision - Griffith had a freaking break down and it led to the eclipse.
Imagine what Guts, but 10 times bigger. Griffith or Femto will be no more.

I love the duality of this manga guts looks like a monster but its a kind guy with a sad life meanwhile griffith always looked like some godlike figure as an angel while being willing to sacrifice all his friends
