This is exactly why I love this manga. It's quite literally opposite ends of ths spectrum of intimidation. Guts is a very tall, very muscular man who looks ready to snap at any moment at times while Griffith is a cold and calculated man with a more feminine physique.

I love the dichotomy here. Griffith is presented as a heavenly, an almost perfect-looking man clad in shining white. And yet he’s the villain of the story and one of the most hated characters ever for the absolutely vile things he’s done.

Guts looks like someone straight out of Hell (which is kinda true) He is clad in all black, covered in scars, has seen and done terrible things, fueled mostly by hatred, but he’s the hero and one of the most loved protagonists ever for his constant struggles and his growth as a person

It’s absolutely genius how Miura pulled this off

Why are you guys in the comments calling Guts a villain? He literally saves people from apostles and pseudo apostles trying to kill them on a daily basis and tried to protect and escort Casca to get her memory returned to the best of his ability. Guts is a FAR CRY from a villain. The things he endured in the eclipse and in his childhood day does not make him a tragic VILLAIN it makes him a tragic HERO because what he does moving forward for others.
