In this video i will explain the function of a car engine control module (ecm ecu pcm U1000). If you're experiencing symptoms such as stalling, check engine light, engine performance issues, no start, can't erase engine codes then this video is for you. Do not replace or change the engine control module without testing or verifying possible issue that can cause the computer to stop working.

Yup!!! My 2017 suburban had at first a lot of life's go on the panel took to a local mechanic and he fixed some chewed wires and connectors. Seemed to be OK for two days then wouldn't start had it towed to dealer had more chewed wires and it must have blown out the PCM they fixed all and it is now fine. Found out it was rabbits chewing so put a fence around car. So far so good.

Mine gives no codes at all, bad surging issues under engine load, bad fuel economy, random misfires. But the no codes cost me thousands in repairs before I knew it what my ecm

Just had to order a plug snd play ecm from solo auto ecm in Miami. I had no wide open throttle after 2nd. Many new sensors with replaced harnesses were reading very high. The transmission computer couldn't communicate with the ecm.. new one came in today for a pt cruiser with a summit racing built motor and high performance built a604 transmission

Great breakdown and explanation of ECM, I’m having trouble with starting the engine, of a Chevy 2012 equinox, my scanner says #78E then beneath that it says 78a and 78b I looked it up and it has something to do with relays and fuses, do you have a video or can you make a video on this code no other video makes sense to me

My wife's Nissan went into limp mode. The following lights are: Check Engine, TCS, SLIP.

The following codes are: P2138, P0653, P0451 and P1726.

The Nissan dealership stated that it was the catalytic converter, however Firestone stated that it was the ECM.

Need some advice my

Interesting to know all this! Do you t hink after a timing belt change (and cleanup), that why would an error "83 ECU Failure information: PGM-FI Relation Failure" suddenly appear? battery has almost 4 years too.. I've been scratching my head on this one and can't find the answer..

I have a 2015 Nissan Versa Note that was throwing a P0138 (Bank 1 Sensor 2 High Voltage) and check engine light. The exhaust system was old, rusted and leaking everywhere. I replace the entire exhaust system (intake manifold back) except I didn't replace the o2 sensors (yeah pretty dumb I know) and the P0138 & CE light did not go away. With the new exhaust system, I tested the downstream o2 sensor and got poor readings (showing it was bad), so I replaced it and the P0138 code went away. But after testing the old o2 sensor/wiring & replacing the o2 sensor, the car wouldn't start (it turned over but would not fire up). I found a blown 20A fuse marked 'ECM' in the engine compartment fuse box (next to the battery), replaced it and the car fired right up, but it still shows CE light and U0100. The car runs fine so what could be causing the U0100 code?

My 2006 Saturn Vue 3.5 shows no codes. But the car will crank but not start. It's happened 4 times. Prior to this there was one night the wife came home and the engine bay smelled of burned electrical. There are no codes. The car will just randomly not start.

One mechanic took out the oil pump and installed it that was how everything started. No power when riding and had all the symptoms. Egg smell, misfiring and the jerk. Then after mechanics took out the transmission clean some parts and put it back it fired up like a new machine. 6 months later it happened again. Now it at limp mode. Hopefully it’s the ecu as I have only tried changing position sensor and the air intake control module

I got no check eng light on but have 40 codes I wipe the codes and they come back right away. Eng does start but takes it a few key turns to get it to start and runs rough at idle. I have checked all the connections but thinking due to the computer saying injector1-4 have no signal but the eng is running. 2000 grand am 2.4L

Can a bad ECU cause 02 errors, misfires, and black smoke out of exhaust when stomp on accelerator, and would it cause rich to lean ?

I have a 2006 MBZ s500 and my car stalls while driving. Sometimes it will not start up, especially when it's hot out. There are no codes when it happens. I was running live data one time with my scanner and the car stalled and no code popped up. Could that be my ecu?

my 2006 ford focus starts hard only at the first start of the day - it sputters and may stall. Subsequent starts are fine though.Could this be an ECM issue? We've checked fuel pump, cleaned injectors and spark plugs were recently replaced. the check engine light is persistently on regardless of fixing the issue the codes were indicating last year.
