This helped me reset my 2016. For keyless start folks, like me, all you have to do is hit your start button, everything else is the same.

Man you are a legend. I have the same exact model. Focus mk3.5. I had a bad experience recently with an uneducated and really horrible mechanic that lead to a leaking my whole motor oil from the engine. I changed the oil again and this message pops up… now I am safe 😁😁

My local garage who I have frequented for yearswere tight lipped when I asked how I could turn this warning off. They offered that I could bring the car in for service at $208 just to clear the warning. Ha. Alls fair in love war and business. Legend.

I had done this reset before, but forgot and had to look it up again, so thanks. Interesting though, the system only keeps track of the time, not the condition of the system or the oil or anything like that, so don't depend on it for anything other than that. About a month or so ago, I had a serious oil leak and took it in for service and it turned out to be a problem with the filter. The shop replaced the filter and changed the oil. So in the past few days my "oil change required" light started coming on, and I was puzzled at first until I realized the system was tracking TIME since the last oil change and it doesn't recognize that the oil HAS been changed. (silly me--shows how ignorant I am about these things I guess) Anyway, I just reset it (thanks to you) but it's off by a month or so.

Thanks for the useful video. I have to say, however, on the part of Ford this is a terrible implementation of the whole process. My daughter's 2010 Ford Fusion does the process in the menu and you can check it to get a percentage of oil life left. You can also select the percentage to start at when you do the reset so say you changed the oil before the notification was displayed you can reset it to 90% instead of 100% to account for the miles you have already driven since changing the oil. Our newer 2016 Focus doesn't work as nicely.
