Im not a challenge run guy, but Ive always like diplo. Being friends with vassals and neighbors is really strong. Also, Groomed to Rule is a really fun skill that makes your kids have better stats

Diplomacy is the most useful 👀
Forced vassalisation…. Groomed to rule… must have pick ups!

Besides diplomacy allows you to peacefully vassalize your neighbors, one time I had kingdom of italy title and both lotharangia and east francia were dissolved so me being the neighboring kingdom with high diplomacy, high legitimacy and catholic allowed me to vassalize the entire HRE region and form HRE in record time. Same goes for tribes too, create a custom ruler with correct diplomacy perks etc. In any of the polish duchies at the start and then they will all be willing to be your vassals after first couple wars.

Start the dissolution faction, use the intrigue perk to kidnap your liege, press demands while he's in jail, war starts with 100% war score for you. GG.

Late game diplomacy is a must when you've got a million vassals

Diplomacy is amazing. One of the best ways to get the North Sea Empire achievement with Munso

I love that the tier list implies that stewardship could be as effective if not more effective than intrigue in bringing down the Byzantines

CK is such a great series. This vid autoplayed and I missed the first part, my attention dropping in around the time you were talking about disolving byzantium. I genuinely had to stop my cleaning just to see waht batshit dimention I had fallen into.

This is why in CK2 as a vassal, you could only call in foreign allies under certain circumstances

My go to Strat has always been Learning>Diplo>Stewardship tbh. Cause learning gives a lot of those dev perks and makes me live longer and that overpowered celibacy option once I have a perfect heir to groom. And let’s not forget the middle tree with the stat ups for council members. Diplomacy goes next to befriend vassals and make my heir and extended family like me better. Also since I should have some amount of money by then I’d be sending 100+ opinion gifts min. It also helps me with legitimising myself and my heir because I tend to marry lowborns for eugenics programs to get genius and other stuff by that point. Once I’m done with like stabilising my realm only I go steward to start increasing buildings and vassal contributions. Sometimes I would even declare war for that sweet war taxes and stall until I decide I have had enough and wipe out the enemy. Usually artifact wars

All skills are useful! But some are harder to use than others, which is why martial is so popular because of how easy it is to use, and it’s also very fun to just conquer everything.

I generally go with a "take what your given" approach to skill trees, but I must admit I've never really gone out of my way for diplo perks when I've played a character without a diplomacy education.

The main thing I tend to notice diplo being good for is prestige on the majesty focus, that's especially useful if you're trying to form unique realms that require exalted or legend fame. I don't play tribal enough to say how useful it is in that scenario, but it's got to do you atleast a little good when prestige buys and maintains men-at-arms.

It think alliances are way too easy to get in the game (and it's potentially a balancing issue). Alliances should be made through diplomatic schemes (similar to intrigue schemes as a chain of events) and last for a limited period of time depending on your success outcome. Then give the opportunity to renew them when they run out through an event (if the ruler has a positive opinion and depending on their traits).

I find that diplo and learning can really work well at times

Love diplo for early game small tribal factions. Honestly I'd consider taking the middle tree for commission epic alone, but combined with increases to prestige generation, increased vassalization acceptance, and the bonuses to both number of knights and opinion from the level of fame impact? It's just wonderfully snowbally.

hell, as an Andalusian emperor i took Jerusalem after the Abbasids collapsed and from then I was able offer Vassalage to EVERY ruler in the Empire of Arabia, and without my Diplomatically inclined ruler I wouldn't have been able to. it also helped me do the same with Maghreb. everyone also loves you

Intrigue is awesome for new rulers for realm stability if they take throne with dread. Also, the vassal tax increase from dread works really well. But after finishing up the dread tree, we have to switch to learning or stewardship. Still haven't found a use for martial or diplomacy though
