Just seconding what Garret is recommending. There's a big difference heat-wise between tight jeans and loose-fit. Having that extra room allows air to flow and heat to escape. I also pinwheel my jeans up to the ankle. Having that little bit skin or sock exposed down there really does help to wick away moisture and heat.

On the topic of care without washing, something I learned from wearing a suit is to own a clothes brush and brush it down before hanging to remove dirt. Do it every time and there is less chance for dirt to work deep in the fibres.
