The whole chemical versus physical sunscreen debate is something that cracks me up to no end. It’s such BS. Especially the fact that they say that physical sunscreens are better for sensitive skin. Everybody’s different obviously and I’m not saying it can’t be true for some people, but I have extremely sensitive skin and always have and my skin does significantly better with chemical sunscreens than it does with mineral sunscreens. Every time I use a mineral sunscreen, my skin breaks out & itches.

I have very, very, very sensitive skin and my skin does well with chemical sunscreen as long as it's fragrance free. I live in Asia so I get to use new generation filters.

I'm so glad you brought one of these points up that I have had questions about for quite some time. Why do people recommend you apply your sunscreen at least 15 minutes before leaving the house? As you mentioned in the video, sunscreen is effective from the time you apply it so why do people including derms and estheticians claim that you need to apply it well in advance of being exposed to the sun?

I personally prefer mineral sunscreens as they’re gentle on my skin. I’ve tried a lot of chemical sunscreens, but all have burned the shit out of my eyes and skin. I don’t want to waste more money trying new chemical sunscreens, so I stick to mineral ones. Now, I actually enjoy using sunscreen ever since I’ve found a couple of great mineral sunscreens that don’t leave a white caste.
