That's it. I'm getting organic. Don't know why I allowed myself to get duped into looking for a physical sunscreen for my dark skin. You're a godsend :)

"Everyone has different standards of risk." Very good takeaway from this video. Thank you again, Michelle.

I love your channel so much, I'm studying undergraduate chemistry at the moment so I find this so fascinating! Youre an inspiration for me, girl!

Thank you so much for this! It is so refreshing to hear from someone who actually knows what they are talking about. I feels like news & info has been dumbed down by influencers and marketers, but genuine experts are making a comeback!

I suffer from pigmentation and wasn’t sure whether my new SPF is right for me - La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL - was right for me but, having watched this video, I think a more chemical (organic) sunscreen is my best option 👍🏼

Oh my goodness, this video is so helpful! I'm so happy I found your channel! I just turned 24, and I never really cared about my skin care or took care of my skin up until very recently so I'm a skincare newbie. I'm really trying to educate myself on the best products and formulas for my skin, and this channel is helping me make intelligent and informed choices about how I take care of the largest organ of my body!

I REALLY appreciate you making this video! You have confirmed my skepticism about chemical and physical sunscreens.

I've also read that American brands don't require FDA processing to test sunscreens to see if they actually work. I've only been using Asian sunscreens the past year or so since reading this, but I'm unsure of where to look for answers from here.

I don’t have sensitive skin...but most chemical sunscreens sting on my face, and really burn my eyes. I’d really rather use the physical ones. I use the recommended amounts, avoid the sun, and just hope for the best

Thanks Dr. Lab Muffin! Very helpful in "filtering" (lol) out all the pseudoscience on the interwebs. I've followed your channel for a while and it's really refreshing to see you getting more comfortable with your own quirky sense of humor. Own it!

For those looking for a recommendation for an inorganic/physical sunscreen, MAKE P:REM UV Defense me. Blue ray Sun Fluid SPF 50+ PA++++ is my favorite! I have medium-dark (MAC NC42) skin, and the white cast is quite minimal. It also helps mattify my oily-type skin throughout the day, and it's fairly cost-effective per mL (comes in a giant 200mL bottle).

The best video that I have ever watched in sunscreen. Period. You Are A Godsend. So many other “experts” got me to fall for so many of these myths. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!!

Thank you ^^ This video actually cleared up some preconceptions that I had, especially with physical "blocking" and chemical "absorbing." I think I'll continue using the physical sunscreen that doesn't give me a white cast because my skin can be a bit sensitive at times, and I don't want to risk breaking out. Thanks for the information.

i love your explanations on sunscreen. As someone with a chemistry background I always wonder why they kept calling it chemical/physical when it's very obvious is more like organic/inorganic. I was wondering if you could explain more on a few sunscreen chemicals that can potentially harmful to environment. For example, in Hawaii, I think they ban a few sunscreen ingredients because of coral bleaching. One day that would be another important factor of choosing a sunscreen.

I have sensitive skin, allergies and rosacea and I used to wear chemical sunscreens and they were so uncomfortable, felt like I had cake in my face, broke me out and hurted my skin and made me feel miserable overall. Then I tried a mineral one from Australian Gold and it was life changing because it didn't break me out or hurted or caused any allergies, I felt like I didn't have anything on my face it's so light and it doesn't leave a white cast because it's tinted...
