I don’t know much. But for creativity and for a more original scene. Shouldn’t you get references outside of manga or anime or if so show it on a interesting way. There are a bunch of games, movies actions or animations that would go well in a comic in some way or another. Hell if you wanna reference from manga or anime use western comics as well from france, italy and the usa as well. Also, storytelling wise how could be use as reference in scene or character.
