Nuclear Fission and Fusion are two very commonly discussed and extremely energetic nuclear reactions.
In Fission, a very large nucleus disintegrates into relatively smaller daughter nuclei while releasing huge amounts of energy in the process.
In Fusion, small nuclei fuse together to create relatively bigger nuclei, while also releasing energy in the process.
In this video I discuss why these reactions take place using the Binding Energy Curve.
