Trip To Old Military Base & Dump For Salvaging Parts

Every so often I like to go to the dump, or a nearby abandoned military base that was built in the mid 50's to look for electronic components and other parts to salvage. This video will show you what I got during one such visit. Estimated value of the parts in this video($200-$300).

Very nice find mate that should keep you tinkering for a while. I bet someone would pay quite a bit for some of those vintage parts even the tin water.

I worked in avionics at a Naval Air Station and the things that were thrown away would boggle your imagination.

I believe the transformers you have are called R core transformers.

Awesome grab man! I'm also making a DC power supply right now. You might want to consider using a darrlington emitter follower to control your output instead of a potentiometer, because it will give you a more stable current supply.
