A good teaching tool that I have been watching over the last year or so has been Cimo’s History of Yugioh. It made me think of a lot of older cards. They’re almost to Dragon Ruler format and that’s where a lot of “newer yugioh “ is starting to get played.

Also pay attention to which columns you place your cards in, and check your grave periodically.

I really returned during a tier 0 format 😅 Never thought I'd say this but I miss playing against Striker

I never been to locals before, I’m kinda nervous, I’m thinking about going locals for the first time but my nervousness is preventing from me from going.

I would also add in that playing and practicing with other players especially ones that are better than you, face to face will help you confidence wise. There’s a difference between playing online and in person. You may know your deck but when you face a person face to face you can easily not be focused as much. Some people are not good socially and that can cause lapses in duels. Also by facing better players like a friend at a local you can constantly have that desire to get better.
Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk😂

I would appreciate some tips on the psychological side of learning the game. How to deal with frustration, silly misplays, anxiety, etc. My locals are extremely competitive. The people there are very nice and helpful to me but they also play to win. So I've been getting destroyed for months since I started playing in february and I still get very anxious as I play. I can say I've been learning a lot but it can be quite tough to deal with losing every single time. Great video!

Excellent pro tips even though am an average duelist. I haven't dueled against anyone since 2011 or 2014 if my memory serves me correctly. I stopped investing money on the physical cards because of my lack of friends to duel against. I even tried dueling against myself in the past but it was no fun. I'm not very good at building decks especially while there are way too many cards to look through. I'm better at dueling compared to building decks.

I personally hate Metas because people copy others by using the same/similar decks sucks the fun out of competitive play which is one of the reasons why am glad i don't compete in Yugioh tournaments anymore nor play against random players online in Master Duel. I wish Konami didn't create Link Monsters and Pendulum Monsters because they made the card game more complicated and confusing.

I woulde recomend for new players to wache yugioh vrains
Vrains has so much intristing decks form trickstar to burn you to crispy, salamagete recyeling hard, dinowresles puncing your opponent hard, borrel to swarm powerfuel dragons, sunavalon to stale your opponent or otk marinces being imune to everting and code talker being realey good ( this is just a couple )
Waching the anime you can see how the deck should work.
