This scene in the game is one of the best “we lost” moments in a game I can think of

I was hoping to see Fortuna in open rebellion and was totally prepared to help Eudico resist another tyrant. This scene made me realize how complete our failure was. This hit hard

Fun fact: Narmer was the name of the Egyptian Pharoah considered to be the Unifier of Egypt and founder of the First Dynasty. A fitting name given Ballas technically unified the Origin System and made a new empire in Narmer. The garbs he wears in the quest also give off an Egyptian feel, which is a nice touch.

When I saw Fortuna turned red as I went down the elevator, I had hope that people were still resisting. But as the song started playing, that hope disappeared and I could feel just how fucked the solar system was.

An interesting distinction between this and "We All Lift Together". In "We All Lift Together" the singer changes frequently, and when multiple singers are singing together, they're still slightly out of sync, as you'd expect from multiple individuals singing together. In "For Narmer" every singer sings every line, and they're nearly perfectly synced together.

I absolutely love how "For Narmer" has a similar tempo and structure of "We All Lift Together.". It's a beautiful corruption of a song that once heralded the work towards freedom, to one that praises its own enslavement.

Veso-R, a Corpus who truly acted by the tenets in a way Parvos Granum would approve. He took charge of his destiny and defies defeat and bad leadership in the face of death. Everyone loves Kahl but I think Veso's final stand and speech is so good.

Song is still absolute fire though. 10/10 quest

Riding that elevator down, the fight against Ballas became more than personal.

The whole scene in Fortuna left me fucking _devastated._ I've always had this headcanon that the Solaris United crew were like extended family to the Tenno, and I love their characters regardless, so seeing all that they had worked for crushed under Ballas' heel, all the Solaris with veils on their faces, the empty and ransacked storefronts.. it was heart-wrenching. And this song stands above it all making me realize _exactly_ what my defeat had cost. For all my fear and sadness, nothing else in the game up to that point had made me want to kill and utterly destroy Ballas as much as this whole scene did.
