So to summarize Last wish lore :
-Belric and Rania unleashed the infested on Deimos to prevent the sentients from taking it during the Old War
-Citrine; who was their guardian, decided to use her powers to encase them in crystals, combined with void shenanigans kept the two alive(?) and gave the crystals the ability to create a tunnel between the two should they be separated
-Smugglers came across the crystals, discovered their properties and used them to create a tunnel between Venus and Mars
-Tyl Regor learns of the crystals and decides he wants Belric and Rania's bellbottom genes for his tubemen
-We (the players) are here because stealing warframe/Orokin artifacts is OUR thing

Edit: To answer some questions in replies
-While never explicitly said, the corpus probably want to destroy the crystals to stop smugglers from evading taxes (and smuggling taxable illegal goods)
-Most likely Belric and Rania unleashed the infested on all of deimos whereas Kermeros let the infested into the Necralisk, resulting in his whole family getting infested and him getting the collar

So, found the same info in the codex scans of the crystals. However, the information in the codex is a rather clinical retelling. I do agree locking lore voice lines this pivotal behind a paywall is bad move.
