Finally! This is a great way to explain chronic pain to someone who doesn’t have it!

I live with EDS and this is so hard to explain to people. I get tired because I hurt, and my pain delivery system is messed up. 😂 all they see is a young healthy person and I'm like... eh...no...

I’m sorry this is really serious, but the dogs tail in the background wagging is so adorable 😂

This is the best way I have heard this described. I have chronic pain in my foot due to nerve damage. Being in pain 24/7 is so difficult to manage.

Perfect description of chronic pain. I've lived with chronic pain for over 15 years and no doctor can explain why. I hate it but have learned to live with it.

Hi Jo, I am not a amputee but I do love your spirit on it. I’ve been learning a lot by watching and listening too you, thank you,

I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis since before I was 2, I’ve never known life without chronic pain. I’m close to 30 now and only within the last year or 2 did I actually realize that pain had a purpose. It completely changed my perspective on everything and I’m much more patient with myself now and I take care of myself a lot more effectively now.

What gets me is when people (doctors included) say, "but you don't act like you're in pain"... uh, yeah, that's because I've spent X years ignoring it just so I could function. My husband took me to the ER because i felt "off"...my bowel had ruptured, and I was oblivious. 12 hours later I had a brand-new ostomy - a week later that failed...I showed up to the same hospital, same surgeon, "what's your pain?" "tolerable" - I was septic, gangrenous, and had necrotic tissue. Chronic pain is so mind numbing that you do learn to ignore it for the most part or all you'd do is sit in a corner and cry... the downside is that you end up not noticing when something is actually wrong.

Ugh I feel ya. I got covid for the first time several weeks ago and have had headaches or migraines, nausea, and fatigue every day since 😮‍💨 I already had frequent migraines and other “invisible” chronic shit. Who gets to decide I need daily headaches too?? 😝

You explained that soooo well! I love with an autoimmune disease and it is exhausting to just get thru each day, especially if u focus on the broken warning system! Even if u can push thru and accomplish a task I swear you still use more energy and then crash in the evenings!

I will agree with you chronic pain is hard to live with, mine is in a number of places and hurts in different places each day gets to you .

My back does that, and i'm like: "Dude, that was 2 years ago can you just move on?? Stop crying about a pain that occured 2 years ago!"

yes and it’s so annoying especially because most people don’t even believe you when you say you’re always in pain

Yep. Yelled at my bad knee 30 years, before it became my Only. Usually mentally, when it acted up, or left me needing my cane or dog.

Now it's telling the phantom one to shut it. It can't hurt, becasue it no longer exists, other than some test samples. Rare infection that doctors are still trying to figure out, to improve treatment and prevention.

Something I was happy to agree to.

Neen there, and vould die happy if no one else would go through that.

This is especially true when the pain is widespread. Only time I get concerned about pain is when it is a new location or type.

People think that chronic pain means that you won’t feel “less bad pain” bro I’m used to my right side being messed up from scoliosis… I pulled a muscle on the left side of my neck…. It hurts like a bitch because that’s not the part that normally hurts. It’d be like telling someone with a broken arm that they shouldn’t feel pain from a stubbed toe because their arm is broken and that’s worse. I’ve been told the pain I expierence on a daily bases would have most people in tears. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt or that I don’t cry from the pain sometimes, I do I’ll sob from pain at times but there’s nothing to do and I know that.

It's ironic that I have chronic pain because my body is very bad at sending and receiving signals for stuff like, am I hungry, do I need to pee, where do I and my limbs exist in space and how can I walk around without hitting things.
