Excellent video chock full of great information!!

Adding my two cents in here. When it comes to broadcasting, the FCC standard with FM transmitters is broadcasting no more than 200 feet. "On FM frequencies, these devices are limited to an effective service range of approximately 200 feet (61 meters). See 47 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) Section 15.239, and the July 24, 1991 Public Notice (still in effect)." However, if you broadcast more, the FCC looks the other way as they are more interested in pirate radio stations and Christmas is a limited time frame. But if you are interfering with a licensed radio station they will most likely send you a cease and desist letter first.

As far as dipole antennas, I have built a few and cutting them to what is called resonant frequency is the most desirable. You do not get reflected RF waves coming back on your transmitter. If you do not make an antenna cut to the frequency, you will need to get a manual tuner (cheapest) in the FM RF range to create a resonate antenna. Or worse, if you do not cut the antenna to the correct (close counts) antenna length, you could damage your transmitter.

FM is considered the best for static free transmission. The static you may get is not from the antenna but from other interference from RF devices in the area and the distance between the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna. Anything in the way of the TX and RX antennas also can cause the static

Great work. Very valuable. I'm going to check out that DiPole antenna build!

I am working on a FM Transmitter Module DSP PLL 87-108MHz Stereo Digital Wireless Board. I want to add on a dipole antenna. I assume the Up pointing positive wire antenna connects to the board. What do I connect/do with the down pointed wire? Where do I ground it? Great presentation by the way! Learned allot.

I have a quick question on the Dipole Antenna, is there a reason to use 1" PVC instead of something smaller like 1/2"?

Where can we download the slides that have all of the links in them?

Holiday Coro has an FM xmiter that is integrated into their system. have you tried these in comparison?

I hope they don't interfere with anything - and they complain to the FCC
