Hi Aubrielle!
It's not really correct to compare Silk and Satin. I believe you try to compare Silk Satin and Polyester Satin.

Silk is a raw material, in the same way as cotton, wool, nylon etc.
Satin is the word for a fabric when a special weaving technic is used. You can make satin fabric by applying the weaving technic to a number of different raw materials. So you can find Satin silk, Satin cotton, Satin polyester etc. Most ribbons, bonnets, scrunchies that are markeded as "satin" is really Satin polyester. You can find examples of Satin Cotton at IKEA in some of their bed sheets and duvet covers. The silk fabric you used to make a bonnet is Satin Silk.

The raw material silk can be woven in to many other fabrics using different techniques: Silk Organza (thin, see through, stiff), Silk Chiffon (light, airy, see through), Silk Canvas (thick and heavy), Silk Satin, Raw Silk (mat and textured), Thai Silk (textured with some shine).

I hope this make sense. I'm sorry for my poor English. It's not my native language.

This is all wrong. Satin is a weave while silk is is a fiber. Everything can be woven in a silk weave, especially Cashmere.

Can hardly understand what she’s saying in this video because of her heavy slumping accent. She also speaks like a speed-reader. Lol.
