After Casca regained her memories, I knew from her dialogue with Guts behind the tree that she still loved him. But she hasn't gotten to the stage yet of accepting her trauma and she's why she can't look at him without being terrified.

The purest happy ending for them would be Casca being able to look at Guts and see the man she loves, and Guts finally knowing happiness.

I’ve always thought of Berserk as a love story. A love story with lots of blood.

The fact that it needs to be explained why a story like this is a love story its just a testament of how wrong is our view of love, i've been married for 20 years and of course nor me or my wife had been raped but love is not just beauty and happines, love is struggle, love is sacrifices, love is hard, love is strong, to live is to love.

Their romance will never be topped by another in my heart. The respect and love they grew for eachother is so human and honest. If I think too much about it I’ll cry lmfao, Guts and Casca are everything a relationship should be.

The dreamscape sequence was one of the most impactful chapters for me. The fact that she sees Guts as her protector still and fighting for her, finding any scrap of her he can to build her whole again. When her miniature version said "there is someone i want to see" and Farnese confirms that Guts wants the same thing, it really solidified that she is still so in love with him, even in her lost state.

Their love is one of the most powerful I have ever come across. It is the absolute epitome of what true and unconditional love is. Its happiness, heartbreak, sacrifice, acceptance, giving more than receiving, im here for it all. I pray the ending to Berserk is one that they both truly deserve.

Well put.

Simp "Berserk is a story about Revenge"

Average fan "Berserk is about overcoming yourself and extraordinary oppositions."

Chad: "Berserk is about true love."

What a lot of people don't talk about is Guts losing his arm. He hacked it off himself, and he didn't do it for his own survival. He did it to get to Casca. Without thinking or even hesitating, he decided in that moment he'd rather live without his own arm than allow Casca to die. And that's Guts in a nutshell. You never once hear Guts tell Casca he loves her, but you see it in everything he does. When he hears she might be in danger during Conviction, he lets go of his vengeance and drops everything to go and save her. When he nearly does to her what Griffith did, he does something that must have been nigh unthinkable after the Eclipse. He lets people in. When she's on the beach with the JRPG party, smiling and having a good time, he stays back, just content that she's happy. Over the course of the manga, Casca has driven Guts to become a better man. We aren't told he loves her. We don't need to be. We're shown.

Berserk is a love story and its something some ppl wouldn't understand cuz most ppl just assume berserks an edgy story about revenge when it's much more than that

I want there to be a scene that mirrors Guts and Casca physically and passionately getting it on with each other (had to word it like that because of the YouTube not hiding comments) where Guts is the one to help heal her trauma the same way Casca did during the Golden Age. Of course, they’d get married and spend the rest of their days with each other. That would be so beautiful and a fitting ending.

I'm a huge romance fan, I love romance novels, shows etc but Guts and Casca and Berserk are always what I think of first when thinking of good romance anime/manga to reccomend. They're so sweet and genuine, when they first sleep together I always get so emotional, Miura was so versatille in his style, he really was the best :, )

No matter how many times I analyse, read or watch berserk it never stops to amaze me... Specially the part about Casca and Guts. It always touches something deep inside

It’s literally a shoujo but with grotesque violence

Seeing Guts and Casca’s relationship being build on through out the golden age arc just felt so real and human until the climax on Wounds where they fully opened to eachother sharing a tender moment. I hate to be that one person but reminds me of my relationship, following the same pattern from despising to growing fond and genuinely caring for eachother.
Berserk, no matter who reads it there’s always gonna be some connection to the reader. We may not experience the hell characters go through. But their strengths and willingness to go on will always impact to whomever is reading.

"Her wish may not be your wish." When Skull Knight said that it all clicked for me. This is a love story, a tragic love story. I have a feeling we are not going to get the "boy gets girl and lives happily ever after" we so desperately hope for. Not all love is meant to last forever.

If there’s anything the 90s anime did well it was the tragedy and love story elements.

Thanks for making this video. Your one of the only YouTubers around that portray the love story of casca as the main story while most just see "man with giant sword killing monsters" Berserk is not just a manga it's an epic that tells the human story of struggle

Berserk is a lot of stories. A love story, a healing story, a revenge story, an epic.

Something that only few people notice it's when and why Guts fell in love with Casca, I think that when it's a very long period that starts from the 3 years time skip of the golden age to the return of Guts to the Band of the Hawk.
Why? For my personal experience I think that Guts found in Casca the only person who had the courage to make him notice what he did wrong, the first to make him feel that he can't do everything he wants. She's a strong woman and he saw in her something none had
