Hi! I have a mac pro and two older 27" mac computers - I'd like ot use the 2 27" for monitors 2 and 3 - can I do that?

I think it's ridiculous that a premium product targeted toward creatives can't easily run dual monitors.

OMG IT WORKS!!! I've been having the hardest time trying to figure out how to connect my Macbook M2 2022 to multiple displays and after buying and returning adapters and hubs from multiple places, I jumped on Youtube, found this video and purchased the Plugable Displaylink hub you mentioned in the video. Works perfectly. Thanks bro!!!

THANK YOU!!! This worked for me after literally more than a year of thinking that I was doing something wrong rather than it being an actual limitation of my MacBook Pro 13"... Loving my new extended monitor setup and it literally was up and running less than 24 hours after I watched your video. Super helpful content! :)

Long story short, get a DisplayLink compatible USB-C docking station. They're pricey but worth it. I'm running three independent screens on my Macbook Pro M1

Thank you Jay! I found your video after struggling to figure out how to use more than one monitor with my Macbook Air M1 2020. I found your blog post with the update on other options of docking stations and ordered the Tobenone. Setup instructions were clear and I'm ecstatic! No more tiny laptop screen, shuffling windows and forgetting what I was even searching for as I searched for the window I needed. I can see all my work in front of me and work more efficiently now.

Mac OS sidecar to iPad, then attach the iPad to an external Monitor (to overcome M1 dual screen limitations)? Will it work as a dual-screen option?

I would totally watch the more detailed review of your setup, especially how you toggle back and forth between Mac and PC.

I am getting a Mac Studio, I wonder if it will work with that? I already have three monitors, but it is connected to my 2010 Mac Pro. Let me know if this can be done with the Mac Studio.

I followed your instructions and purchased what you suggested. It worked perfectly with my Mac Pro and now I have 4 screens. You are amazing. Thank you so much!

I'm pretty close to a cable free desk. I own a MBP and an HP Windows 10 Laptop. My dual monitors are 24 inch LG Ultrafine Thunderbolt monitors. These monitor are essentially each acting as a USB-C / Thunderbolt Hub. Each Monitor has 5 ports which are two Thunderbolt 3 and three USB Type C. The monitors are daisy chained which means I connect both Monitors to one laptop with one cable. If I need to switch laptops I need to move that one cable from PC to the MAC and vice verse... The Keyboard is a Logitec MX Mechanical with the ability to switch between three computers via Bluetooth. Same for the Logitec MX Master 3s. With the push of a button on each, I can switch across three computers via Bluetooth. Around the outside of my left monitor are some 3d printed mounts that I created to hold my Apple Watch wireless change and an Apple MagSafe iPhone charger. My last peripheral is an Anker USB Type C Webcam. All my peripherals are plugged into the monitors. Because the Monitors are Thunderbolt my MBP charges from the same cable that drives the video. So that means no AC Adaptor cable. In order to complete this setup I would love to find a Bidirectional Thunderbolt or USB Type C video switch so I would not have to physically keep moving the One cable between the two laptops. But no one makes one that supports the daisy chain setup I am using. Small price to pay for having one cable on my desk :)

Would this work with an iPad? Or do you have any suggestions for iPad users?

Might just be me... but I'm so confused on what I need to buy watching this... From my MacBook Pro M2... I need to buy a USB-C cable.... then a Lenovo Thinkpad Thunderbolt 3 gen 2 Dock... then some pluggable brand thing that's DisplayLink compatible (UD-3900H) .... and some Cable Creation thing and get 2 of them... what plugs into what? Not sure why, but I really just need some breakdown of what happens after the USB-C cable leaves the MacBook as it wasn't clear for me

Dell D6000 USB-C dock will resolve your requirements for 3 monitors if you ok using DisplayLink. It has 2 x Display Ports and 1 x HDMI.

I am still looking for a native Thunderbolt solution but until then this works well.

I finally got my dream machine - the M3Pro MacBook.. and was very disappointed to learn that I could get one external monitor and one mirrored monitor. I should have read the specs more carefully as I got this machine to run multiple displays.

I am grateful for this video 1.5 years later. thank you. I would love to see the rest of your setup..

I bought the plugable version in the link with my Mac that runs M1 - unboxed, plugged in, ran displaylink. Within minutes I have 2 extended screen(s) running and recognized by my Mac.

Great video, thanks for the help and the advice!

I want to connect two monitors to my MacBook Pro (2015-M1?). Which docking station is the best? Do I need a device that will allow me to switch from monitor to monitor, and do I need a mouse?
