I like how most of these features are already in almost every other game and game engine by default

Can't wait for Lithium and Sodium's successors like Caesium, Deuterium and Tritium

It's funny how all of these exist because minecraft was basically just an experiment in Java coding that got out of hand, and is therefore hilariouslyunoptimized

0:47 the difference between entity culling and sodium is that sodium checks if the entity is in a loaded chunk but EC also checks if the entity is hidden or not

Optifine's closed source isn't particularly an issue to the general public, it's more an issue for mod developers as it changes a bunch of code, which those mods depend on, and then you're trying to debug it half blind.

Another large factor to Sodiums FPS increase is updating the openGL version of Minecraft, vanilla uses an ancient openGL version that runs significantly worse, this is also why you can see right on sodium mod page that it requires, well not really modern hardware, but it won't run on ancient hardware

It's laughable that these are not part of the vanilla game

other method: forcing mojang to rewrite minecraft or fix bedrock

You could probably do a part 2 of these mods:
- Distant Horizons
- Starlight
- Memory Leak Fix
- Nvidium
- FerriteCore
- Chunky
- LazyDFU

this is actually nice.

you should also cover more mods like modernfix, potato optimizer, some sodium fork like embeddium, nvidium, vulkan rendering, c2me, noisium, immeditally fast. I cant really recall every 'performance' mods and their compability with each other ( some just crash my game lol ) but that would be cool if you explain it in depth. And problaby explain some fps boosting modpacks out there

Problem with OF is, that it randomly breaks stuff... Modpacks, gamesaves...

And because it's not opensource, nobody knows why

All information, clear title, no gimmicks. Neat. Well done.

And my personal favorite, Distant Horizons. It generates low detail meshes of your world that show up further away, cutting down the performance costs of a large render distance massively though at the cost of faraway areas looking weird. Having a 500 chunk render distance feels insane though

As a bedrock player, when I tried Sodium on Java and I got up to 400 fps, I was literally amazed by this, if there was something like this for bedrock, it would literally have the influence Sodium has.
