I only own a singer 201-2. I bought it Facebook market for $150 dollars it came with a Queen Anne style sewing table and bench. I was so delighted. I love it because the sewing pedal is under the machine and I use a knee pedal to sew with.

My machine is not quite that old, but it threads similarly (1980's Kenmore). I'm having problems with the thread wanting to wrap around the vertical spool holder underneath the spool while I'm sewing. Of course, it tightens after a few turns and then the thread breaks. Are there any gadgets available or tricks that might prevent this from happening?

How do you get the needle to pick up the bobbin thread to see. I just changed the needle what way should the eye be facing
