Best explanation of VoIP so far. Where we were, where we are, why its better and how it works. No fluff. Just what I needed to understand for my organization. Thank you!

Hi. I live in Sydney Australia, and recently transferred to HFC, I originally had a DSL modem and an ordinary copper wire worked really well, after switching over to HFC the internetworks really well but my Voip is appalling in fact at times the phone is unusable the voices keep breaking up so bad I’m thinking seriously about getting a mobile problem is I’m paying for a phone line I can’t use.

So the internet telephony company does not require physical connection but only that I'm connected to the internet through my ISP. Is that correct?
