Automotive Wiring Diagrams & Service Info

The question I get asked the most is "Where do I get all of my free wiring diagrams and service information?" Well I wish it was free! The truth is, just like any other shop I pay hundreds of dollars a month just for service information, not including OEM and aftermarket scan tool subscriptions. The good news is, DIY options and OEM short term subscriptions are available to you! Is it free? Nope.... -Enjoy!

THIS is why I love SMA. You're willing to help the diy'ers with quality information. You're the best, Eric O.

I took your advice and bought a bi directional scanner. I bought a car at the dealer that was butchered by previous mistakes. I got my butt kicked toward the end by intermittent failing spark plug wires. The misfire counter led me right to the issue. I used all data for free at my library. We get the first 100 pages for free. Every time we go there. The pin out charts let me check the o2 heater circuit resistance on the existing o2 sensors at 6k. The cheap ebay o2 sensor checked at 10k. Giving me a p059 code.
Your comedic approach in a no nonsese attitude, makes your videos thoroughly enjoyable. Now all my friends know what an ugga dugga is. Thank you!

This is what YouTube is all about being able to look over the master and learn the tips and tricks, i know this wasn't nuts and bolts but this was awesome for me thats always wary of internet advice as always thanks for what you provide for all of us Eric O.

UK viewer here. I acquired a version of AutoData years ago and it's probably saved me well over £2000 in repairs on my daily vehicle (which is European) over the past 6 years that I've owned it.

Terrific info here. Whenever I buy a beater, I usually put up the money for some sort of manual - Haynes, Chilton's, etc. When one of "my kids" (read not my child, but I consider her one of the family) asked for help with her vehicle last summer, I bought a one year subscription for that vehicle. Just being searchable rather than thumbing through the book was great and worth it. The subscription for one year was around the same (or slightly less) than buying the physical book and I was confident in the procedures and specs rather than just googling stuff (head gasket job). Worth it, IMO. I'm a "weekend warrior" when it comes to car repairs and such and I always like to use google, youtube, forums, etc. for issues, but you get what you pay for.

Im going to put it down straight, Mr. O. You're one heck of a fine mechanic! Your knowledge and skills are second to none. I watch your channel and many times watch them more than once. You just don't know how many times you've helped the community by taking the time to provide your wealth of info..thank you from one well pleased subscriber. Would like to meet you one day, shake your hand and buy you a cup of coffee. A rsre man indeed.

ONE of your most IMPORTANT videos.I realize you like to teach people how to fix cars, and your videos do just that for the most part. But most of the time people watch you just to hear you talk and pretend they are your customer in your shop watching you work on their cars.Which is also the reason we miss MRS>O.We don't get to go in the office and pay our bill. And take a tootsie pop from the glass bowl on the counter.haha, for free. The diagrams and information you are talking about is so valuable, it's like trying to drive across the USA without a MAP or GPS.YEAH you could follow the sun and eventually you'll make it, but at night all your going to hear IS BANJO MUSIC when you roll your windows down!!! I did the year one for my 1994 Honda, after i got access, MAN what a difference, you have to be nuts not to pay.with the money i saved on labor i was able to buy 4 sets of DORMAN brake pads instead of just 1.haha thank you ERIC

Even if you are across the pond, with a VPN anything is possible! I feel this is good info to some DIY guys, definitely worth it on vehicles that you know you will be keeping and working on over the years.

All Data really saved my rear during the 2009 crash, I managed to limp two vehicles through some bad times, well worth the price. If you have a place and the tools to work on something and are willing to learn and get dirty, these sites can save you a fortune and you know the job was done right. Thanks for helping people find the info they need Eric, you are not only a great tech, you are a great person.

This is an awesome set of resources. Thanks Eric. When I purchased my truck in 1997, I also purchased the OEM Service Manuals (big phone books of stuff), but it's always nice to be able to search stuff online, specially when you can follow the colored trace to find what it's connected to (like you've done). The online resources sure save me from doing a lot of page flipping in my manuals.

AllDataDIY user here, it's been so helpful diagnosing things and finding wiring colors. Definitely worth the money!

This is one of the best SMA videos yet. I was looking at service information sites, since my 2012 Chevrolet, with the fuel efficient 6.0L, as Mr O says has reached 100k. One gave a year subscription for one model. That’s a a great deal.
