Just speaking for us (smart) men. We're caught by the britches, kept by the great sense of humor and lovely personality. We don't see dark in this humor because more than anything, it makes us laugh and then think about the reasons you're so precious, like there are better cars and you know.... And furthermore in every phase of your life, there is something irreplaceably beautiful that no yesterday or other age can compare to, so don't compare, it wasn't designed like that. Yesterday's ice-cream is not that great today anyway. If you feel there is more of you, don't forget, the bigger the candle, the more impressive the light. If we can't afford you or thyroid pills for us both then the bad is on us. Every smart guy though can afford to and will get you britches, just wear them right, it will always be a hit. Thanks for putting a smile in my heart and the other guys agreed judging by the raised beer glasses and embarrassingly loud amens.

Haha! We can think this because of aging and familiarity with our spouses, but I've seen old couples where the wife dies first, and the husband suffers that loss of companionship and dies soon afterward.

When it comes down to it, some older men would definitely pull their lifetime companion from a burning vehicle.
