The best thing about the My Generation bass solo is that in every show he's in with The Who since the song's release and before his passing, he would always modify his bass solo - a testament to the evolution of his bass playing.

I saw The Who in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1975 (Keith Moon was still alive). I was in the second row. In addition to "My Generation" I saw Entwistle perform "Boris the Spider." I love your videos, thanks.

Thank you for mentioning the solo in "Call Me Lightning", as I thought it was just as masterful as the solo in "My Generation".

Fun fact: Lemmy Kilmister wrote a tribute to John Entwhistle that was featured in the booklet for the Motörhead album Inferno.

John Entwhistle was one of those musicians who never got credit for his input into music. Neither is Pete or Keith to be fair. I mean they are all well regarded and have been sighted as influences but no one commends their unique styles. All members of the who were unique. They managed to stay within their roles and shine at the same time. These bass solos are a great example of that. Youd hardly notice he is taking a solo in these two examples because its almost like the songs call for it. Townhsend was great. He left so much room. He is the best 'rhythm' guitarist of the 60s for sure. Truly amazing band.

Killer job on the Entwistle solo. It's one of my faves.

It was with an envelope filter! John was so creative. You NEED to do a video about the lore behind the “66’ slab” precision bass. Only 25 ever made and entwistle swore by its tone difference from other p basses.

John Entwistle is probably my second or third favorite bassist. He’s utterly amazing.

Lemmy cited John as The Greatest Hands Down. Speaking of Lemmy, He's a MADMAN on Motorhead's track Talking Head ♠️♠️♠️

I like how those Bass fills work so well in the context of the songs.

Call Me Lightning also features him playing a wah pedal. My favorite solo Entwistle put on a Who album track is Dreaming From the Waist.

Entwistle!!! Played super aggresive, driving bass parts with the most passive body language possible 😂

The Who one of my favourite bands introduced to me as a kid in the 70's by my older brother. Superb live x

The My Generation bass solo is iconic. The only thing that compares is The Phil Collins drum break.
