I am 77. We only have what is the present. My wife died ten years ago next month after a very long illness. She is always with me, just a little more faded each year. I choose to smile at her being away... I understand the hard parts and cherish the happy parts and wait for my own passing. It was good to get to touch the end of this series. It will always be the best fiction ever written and acted out. One more door door softly closed. Thank you for sharing. Adieu.

This is the best that television has ever gotten for me. I’m 60 years old now and I have outlived my wives and my daughters. Trust me when I tell you that this show will let you cry for everything you ever needed to cry for.

"You will not be forgotten."

And so Lee passed a note through history for thousands of years until finally some entrepreneur decided to name their coffee shop Starbucks.

Even ten years after, this still gets me. The music, the journey's end, the stellar performance of actors playing wonderful characters we grew to love.
Goodbye, Galactica. You won't be forgotten!

There is never enough time to say goodbye to those we love.

It's kinda sad how at the end, so many characters wind up alone.

I don't blame Chief Tyrol for never wanting to see anybody again, though. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't either.

When I watch this I'm always "dammit Lee! don't stop looking at her! She can't mysteriously disappear if you keep staring at her! DON'T BLINK!"

for me - personally - this was a perfect ending for an epic story. The series was just coming to an end when my mother passed away. The character Laura Roslin had always reminded me of my mom - and then even more so when my mom died (of advance-stage lymphoma) only days after I saw the last episode. We love whom we love when we love them. It's as simple and as complicated as that. So say we all.

And then he turned away, and when he turned back a few seconds later she was gone. Just gone. And all he was left with was memories, and in time even those would fade.

I love this scene, but this video should have ended about 5 seconds later with Lee's, "Goodbye, Starbuck."

Duala: Shoots self
Dad: Takes off
Starbuck: Goes poof
That Lee Adama sure is an unlucky guy...

Badly edited, guys. Why end this clip so abruptly? Come on, another 10 seconds to see the end of the scene, for the love of the Gods.

THAT WAS FREAKING SAAAAD... I feel so sorry for Lee. His father left, the love of his life left... Dualla's already on the other side... He has no one he loves now :(
(But you know... This is one of the best scenes that made this series unforgettable)

I watched the ending the day before meeting Eward James Olmos in person, I was almost in tears, he was a very kind person.

One of the greatest, and saddest endings to a series I have ever seen. All these years later it still holds its power. But then again the entire series still does.

I remember tearing up watching the series finale. So many ups and downs along the way.and the characters evolved in many unexpected ways.

Time is shorter than we think- cherish your loved ones.

I've been going back and forth over Adama's decision to just go off on his own trying to make sense of it. On one hand, it sort of makes sense because if he stayed with any group, he would end up being the leader by default whether he wanted to or not and he was tired of leading – many people lost their lives under his leadership, and whether or not it was his fault, he carried that guilt.

Regarding him going off to be alone - he wasn't trying to start some new life by himself. That would be absolutely foolish and borderline suicidal, going to live alone in an unknown land with potential enemies and possibly dangerous wildlife, with nothing to defend or feed himself, only the clothes on his back and his bare hands. He was going off alone to wait to die.

But what made no sense to me was him being willing to wash his hands and walk away from his son, along with Kara - whom he viewed as a daughter - and Tigh, his best friend of 40 years.

Every time I watch that scene, when Lee turns around and Starbuck has 'crossed to the other side', I just lose it. Sometimes we do meet Angels unawares. Whatever the writers, cast and crew got paid, it was never enough!

Have watched the series so many times and it's my favourite show of all time. Still brings me to tears when I watch this.
