BSG is one of the best "remakes" or "reimaginings" evervl done! It was back when writers could gender swao a charecter without making that gender the be all end all of the charecter! This and 12 monkeys are some of the best and sadly last remakes of a bygone age when writers wanted to tell stories that may have underlying messages in them, not messages that might or might not have a good story. I enjoyed caprica but it had nowhere near the depth and effect of BSG.

My theory has always been that she was one of the Lords of Kobol and it was her turn to be the 'guide'. Everything has happened before and will happen again. And as the 'guide' taking mortal form to live a lifetime of experiences without the trappings of immortality would be of great interest to an immortal being.

Lee: Where are you going
Kara: I don't know. I just now that i'm done here, i've completed my journey and it feels good.
Kara was definitely an angel sent to the world to do the right thing by the gods but instinctively without knowing it.
While Lee was the man she needed to stick to this world, a man obsessed to do the right thing following what he thought was the best for mankind.
Like if they were made for each other, not to be together as a couple but to maintain a fragile equilibrium and beeing a reason to exist for each other.

1:20 that scene hit HARD. When she died and Apollo's reaction. It was gut wrenching.

What do you hear Starbuck?
Nothing but the rain, sir.

That Starbuck's resurrection came complete with a Viper reminded me of the scene in Monty Python's Meaning of Life when the dead guests, and their cars, ascended to heaven

Thank you for this one, Ms Nerd Cookies. Moore's BSG re-boot is so very well done. So many excellent actors and excellent writing -- something lacking in a few projects nowadays. BSG is creative, believable, and has cogent storylines.

It's actually the composer for BSG, Bear McCreary, doing his own version of All Along The Watch Tower. The version w/ the Cylon opening has become my favorite cover of this famous song.

Another wonderfully thoughtful presentation with a beautiful presentation - many thanks. 🙂

I initially hated Starbuck, as I did the original, because I have no time braggarts. That changed when it became apparent that there was no brag, just facts. I was frustrated and intrigued by the her turn in the last season and her final scene hit like a thunderclap. Starbuck is easy to explain: _less is more._

The penultimate ending would of been the last scene when Baltar and Six were walking through the city if Baltar looked across a crowded city square and saw the face of Starbuck in the crowd. The story could of ended on, "Is that?...."

Baltar said it best in the hanger scene with the line, _"...I see angels..."_ while looking straight at Starbuck.

What I loved about Starbuck is that she really is the first character to shown to be devoutly religious. I personally would not have thought her character would be...so when we see her privately praying in her closet...I liked it. That said, was the Kara that came back at the end of Season 3 the same person? Or a spirit taking on her form and personality? Either way, I enjoyed her arc and the ending. I know alot of people didn't and I understand why...but I did.

Good choice of music for this video's subject matter. A perfect thematic fit.

I like that, unlike Star Wars and Star Trek, the studio allows questions to be unaswered or unaswerable. One series that did this before was Six Feet Under. The Sapronos also did it to a famous extent, and the showrunner was infamously a fan of that ending.

I am generally against reboot / reimagining but on rare occasion they are good, BSG is one rare gem, thanks Cookie!

I'm just happy to see a fellow Oregonian crushing it out in the world.

I still remember the day I discovered this show, It was 2007 and I had ditched school to go meet a girl at a local internet cafe (yes I'm getting old) and we were browsing for something to watch on the internet when we stumbled on this show by mistake. We clicked on it since we both like sci-fi, watched the pilot (mini-series wasn't up there yet) and since then it has become my favorite show.. We would ditch school once a week after that just to have a BSG internet cafe date😅.
I'm 32 now and I still watch it once a year (including all the extra stuff, razor, blood and chrome etc) and it still hits me like it did the first time.

The idea of Man Vs. Machine is also in various other franchises so this makes sense. I still feel sorry for Le Adama AKA Apollo losing his friend and love. Babylon-5, Star Trek, Dune, even Star Wars have this too!
