My Bibles: Reviewing The Orthodox Study Bible

I am a protestant with very limited knowledge of the orthodox church. So this bible is a great addition for me to have a window into a world that is quite removed from ours.

While having a conversation with a work friend I found out he attended an Orthodox Church ( I attend a nondenominational church) he gifted me this exact Bible and I cherish it to this day ( 9 years ago) Wonderful study Bible .

Orthodox Christian here. While of course I don't speak for the Church, I for one adore the KJV translation. One of the reasons I don't read the Orthodox study bible is because the Old Testament does not follow the KJV.

To really understand you need to go to the liturgy. That is the real expression of the Church. For most of history literacy was so low, that what you have there would be of no use. Liturgy is an expression of actual worship will be shocking to you.
