KABB Commercial Breaks, 11/25/1992

Commercial breaks taken during the "7 O'Clock Movie" presentation of "Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects" on then-independent station KABB in San Antonio, Texas.

It was owned by River City Broadcasting at the time (named for but not based in San Antonio - it was a St. Louis concern that took its corporate name from the holding company used to buy KABB) but overall on-air imaging was largely unchanged from the original ownership that put it on-air in 1987. KABB became the market's FOX affiliate in 1995 as its tower was located with the other market stations in Wilson County, while the existing FOX affiliate (KRRT)'s tower was in the opposite direction near Medina Lake, in order to serve its city of license, Kerrville, with a sufficient signal.

Sinclair Broadcast Group, the present owner, bought out River City in 1996, becoming their first (and until 2012, only) stations in Texas.

Sorta ironic about the H‑E‑B commercial when she talked about Kroger as they have been in San Antonio twice. 1981-1993 and 2022-2024 (the latter was a distribution center). I like H‑E‑B but the 2ish years Kroger was in San Antonio, I liked Kroger’s larger selection of groceries.
