If this was an SAT question I got, I would cry of joy

Bro just put the value of b.
b=a-4
= [a-(a-4)]^3
= (a-a+4)^3
= 4^3
= 64
Edit: Sorry guys this man made me confused
Actually the process by this guy is right but he made calculations to explain each and everything that was confusing.
Because most of us do direct calculations like
4a = 16 then a = 4.
We don't say that in 4a it is multiplied by 4 so we should divide both sides by 4.
I was not that thinking this but this much simpler.
b=a-4
4=a-b
(a-b)^3
=> 4^3 =64

Also, if u can put the value of b to the equation .
[a-(a-4)]³
=(a-a+4)³
=(4)³
=64

a-b=4, Then (a-b)^3 Equals to 4^3 ie 64

b=a-4 you substitute b by a-4 in (a-b)^3 then you get 4^3 = 64

You’ve done tons of unnecessary things
You just have to put „a-4” into the right equasion and get (a-a+4)^3 then a cancels out and you’re left with 4^3

That adds a layer of abstraction (associating a 3rd equation we derived from a separate thought process with the equation we are looking to solve) which makes it more difficult to comprehend at least for people that just try to learn this stuff.

You should just say that since we know b= a -4, then we gonna substitute the value of b into the other equation which is (a-b)^3

So we gonna have (a -(a-4))^3

And then you should explain that subtracting a value within a parenthesis means to change the positive sign or negative sign to its opposite and add the values in the parenthesis individually (I am not a native English speaker sorry I am sure this can be conveyed in a better way)

So you gonna have (a -a + 4) ^3

the "a"s neutralize (add up to zero) so we have (+4)^3

which equals to 64

This is one of the easy ones i have seen so far

Can just replace entire b by a-4 . Become as (a-(a-4) = a-a+4

Instead of adding 4 to both side just transfer -4 to LHS and b to RHS

😂 we just swich the side and add opposite sign

can we just use simplify like b = a - 4 and then (a - b)³ = (a - (a - 4))³ = (a - a + 4)³
now a - a cancel out and then we have 4³ is 64

kiwithemaniaguy

Simple just put value of b and get answer

You can just swap b and -4 actually. Then -4 becomes positive and b becomes -b, you got 4=a-b

Let b = 0 then a = 4 and (4 - 0)^3 = 64
