It didn't kill all the bacteria but those left had minty fresh breath .😁

The root-like growth you cultured and found on the scope might actually be a species of Bacillus bacteria. I've seen many Bacillus soil isolates grow in forms like that. It's hard to say for sure just by the colony morphology and cell morphology, but try Pasteurizing it and subculturing it to see if endospores grow back in a similar growth habit.

Could you try eucalyptus oil or tea tree oil to see how much germs it kills or even the old betadine?

I really think that you need to take me up on my offer to send the elements from the periodic table and some chemicals to experiment with in your microscope. The elements are all different and behave differently and would look badass under the scope. You can also test how each one affects germs, mold and other microbes. So what do you say, want some free stuff to experiment with?

I had almost forgotten about these, we used these with steam to break up congestion when we had colds, we sat around our table with a steamer in the center and a sheet over our heads. And then of course later we graduated to Vicks vaporub, still love that smell.

Although it only killed a few bacteria, it also reduced the raw inflamed tissues by drawing out some of the fluid and causing excess mucus to form a protective layer on the sore throat of the person eating the cough drop.
Recommend alternatively trying lemon and honey flavor if menthol mint is is considered yucky by anyone who wants a menthol cough drop.

Noticed that there's white aura-like objects in the video that appear after you add the menthol, I was wondering if the menthol that deposited made a crystal like pearl around the bacteria? Maybe use a lower magnification to see it
