A quick demo of how to install the Garmin Speed Sensor 2 on your bike and connect it to an Edge GPS unit. The Speed Sensor 2 measures both speed and distance, but you'll need to calibrate it first; Here's how.

you are one of very few that actually mentioned that the GPS ride will calibrate wheel size for the sensor. Well done.

Them 2 cats at the end, hilarious. Good demo BTW.

What are you using to display your ride on the handlebars? I gave the speed sensor 2 but would like to see the miles clocking up as I ride. Whenever I go into the Garmin app it records the ride as complete even if I’m part way through. Thanks!

It used to be that the sensor must be installed on the rear hub, as per Garmin. When did that change?

I have Garmin Speed Sensor 2 Gen3 BSCM Version 4.73.4 (no Build Number) which uses Garmin Connect on my Android phone (I paired it via Garmin Connect App). It auto records my Cycling Time after the ride but not the speed or distance (I am assuming ascent needs a cadence recorder?) - I cannot find anything about setting up wheel size but the product is on the metal bit in the middle of the back wheel anyway - is there something different I need to be doing? Is it supposed to tell me distance and average speed (as well as the time) after the ride has ended? Thanks

does the wheel diameter affect accuracy..? Ie: a 406 will spin far faster than a 700 at the same MPH.

my 530 does not allow me to enter wheel diameter. Have latest software, any ideas?
