Honestly the best feeling boss in the game with the second phase and music change

Soul of Cinder was EXACTLY what I wanted the last boss to be: every possible build you could have in Dark Souls as one. He is NOT as hard as Nameless King imo, but he's tough.

The feeling of knowing that the soul of cinder is you from the first game is absolutely insane.

This fight is a whole grand finale, in the end you have to fight the reincarnation of the one who started all of these cycles

I've never had issues fighting him. The nameless king is much harder imo. I even think he's probably a mid tier difficult boss tbh

This boss is perfect.
He has 4 move sets you have to learn. All of them are challenging in their own way.
The boss arena is by far the best boss arena, or maybe it’s my bias as a berserk fan.
The second phase, i was speechless fighting it, perfect ost, great combos, and he still had some variety, but I did think it was easier than the first phase, he had a lot of punishable windows.

Overall I’ll say a 10/10
Truly one of the best final bosses.

The fact it's an underrated boss goes to show just how good ds 3 bosses are

I think it’s considered underrated because once you fight him 3 or 4 times it becomes like child’s play. while his move set is very diverse, he’s really weak to being overly close in some phases and completely shut down with distance in another. Personally I think it’s an underrated fight too but I think it’s underrated-ness is warranted

I have to say that Soul of Cinder is not a difficult boss. It's not easy either, but he's definitely not as strong as Nameless King. To me at least, the two princes were more difficult than him.

He's a really cool boss still and the fight is very smooth and satisfying.

Definitely underrated. You didnt even mention the music the transition to phase 2 is insane. The amount of times i died not understanding the big ass combo has huge active frames and range even if the sword never touches you... your still in range. Bosses that make you run away are great

I smile every time he busts out the backflips, he's a goddamn ninja

Gael is the true final boss of dark souls series, don't forget

I wish the sword you get from him could transform like he does with it or at least 3 variants

I think there's a lore reason why the soul of cinder isn't like the hardest boss in the series. Because the first flame has been burning for far longer than it was supposed to cinder is not as powerful as a result.

the moment when the music changes in the second phase always gives me chills

I always save him for last and duel him with Gael’s broken greatsword. It just feels right for him to be the final encounter.

I first tried Soul of Cinder. It was fitting because of the journey it took me to get to him. First trying the last boss in such a great series proved to me… I got gud.

This is the boss I had most fun against. Comparing him with Nameless King is crazy though, that guy is just a crucible knight and extremely easy except hitting the dragon

He's not overrated but I wouldn't necessarily say he's underrated. But man is Soul of Cinder badass because you're basically fighting your own character from DS1. Just epic.

He was absolutely amazing. The music is perfection. Hes definitely under rated.
