⭐️CHILI

1/2 pound ground turkey
3/4 cup dry red kidney beans (canned or pre-boiled) or 2 cans cooked
3/4 cup dry pinto beans or 2 cans cooked
1 cup chopped onion - or use 1 tsp powdered onion
1 can tomato sauce- or 1 can diced or crushed tomatoes
1 1/2 tbs chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tbs oregano
1 tsp garlic powder
2 bay leaves
chicken bouillon to taste
salt to taste

Cook ground turkey, set in fridge for later
brown onions in skilled
KIDNEY BEANS - my viewer reminded me that kidney beans can be toxic if not cooked properly. please either use canned kidney beans or boil them on the stove before use.

TO CROCKPOT:
add dried pinto beans or 2 cans pinto beans
cooked kidney beans or 2 cans kidney beans
onions and spices

Cook on low until ready to eat. Add ground turkey about an hour or so before serving if using the crockpot.

Toppings: fried strips of tortillas, cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, etc.

⭐️ITALIAN PASTA AND GREEN BEANS

Single serving size, double, triple or quadruple for a family

3 ounces spaghetti
1 medium potato-diced, rinsed and drained
2-3 cloves garlic
1 diced roma tomato or 1 small can of tomatoes crushed
green beans canned or fresh
oil

In small sauce pan cook 2 diced garlic cloves in oil. Add tomatoes and simmer. Once pasta is almost done, add in some starch water to this pan.

In larger pan boil salted water. Add in potatoes, cook for 2 minutes. Add in spaghetti, clove of garlic, 1/2 can of green beans and cook until pasta is al dente or how you like it. Then drain and add this to the other pan with the tomatoes.

Optional add ins:
nutritional yeast
olives
parmesan cheese

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you use kidney beans, make sure to either use canned kidney beans or boil them first. Kidney beans cooked in the crock pot may not be cooked at a high enough temperature to eliminate the toxins in them. Thanks to my viewer for pointing this out!

I enjoy chili over baked potatoes with sour cream. I would want it a thicker for that and my go too for thickening is corn starch slurry. Your recipe looks delicious, I'm going to try it! I love green beans and I am going to try this with the spaghetti, too! Thank you, Michelle!!

I made a very similar meal today. I had some ground beef in the freezer so I used that. I buy the cheapest tins of chopped tomatoes for €0.35c, but because I had a few sun dried tomato in oil o decided to put the tinned tomatoes and sun dried tomatoes in a bowl and blended them with the immersion blender. That might be a trick to suit your son who doesn’t like lumps of tomatoes. I only had black beans but I used them and almost the same seasonings!! So snap for cooking a similar meal today. I have lots left over. It’s very affordable and goes a long way.

I got a great deal at grocery outlet last Thursday on a huge bag of green beans that I’ve been eating everyday. I’ve been wanting to find a variety of recipes to eat with them. But I have all these items that need to get used, including some baby potatoes and roma tomatoes that need to get used. So glad this recipe came up on my feed again. I’m totally making this today

I love the pasta grannies! They also use luxurious ingredients but they stretch them. I made home-made orchiette after watching one of their videos. Cheap, but gourmet! That green bean pasta looked so good. Canned green beans are salty and delicious!

Whole tomatoes disintegrate better than diced. Diced have citric acid which helps them stay intact.

Usually, I'm a meat purist on chili (no beans in Texas😏.)
But, I just love your recipes and your style! So I'll just call it something like "cowboy bowls."😁

Glad you're back! I dont watch all the nonnas, but sometimes the spicy nonna, she's funny. And once in a while, the channel, Mamah! does a cooking episode.

My mom grew up in the depression, and when I was young, she used to make this soup with a milk broth and peas, beans, and potatoes. It didn't thrill me when I was younger, but these days, I would probably be able to eat it to sustain myself

I like sour creme and cheese with chilli and eat it with bread. More greenbeans! Pasta looks great, nonnas are always good with cheap recipes. Thanks for the video Michelle.

I made the spaghetti/tomato/potato/green bean recipe last night. It was very good. Tonight I had leftover chicken and spinach that needed to be used, so I added it in to the leftovers. It was amazing. I'll definitely be using this recipe again.

I serve the chili over a baked potato or over rice. Very filling. My mom used to make potatoes and broken spaghetti with tomato sauce. Sometimes she would add zucchini or eggplant. Very delicious. Next time I will add string beans! Looks yummy.
